Black Myth Wukong is full of mini-bosses - enemies that are stronger than regular opponents but weaker and less complex than full-fledged bosses. These enemies usually drop a spirit, which allows you to transform - temporarily taking on the form of that boss. On this page of our guide we have listed all the mini-bosses you'll encounter in the third chapter of the game.

Macaque Chief

1 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter three mini-bosses - Chapter 3 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: You'll encounter this enemy very early during the third chapter, at the first shrine, Frost-Clad Path. You'll encounter him again after the first fight, at the Warding Temple in Pagoda Realm.
  2. Rewards: 1,600 Will for the first fight, 1,600 Will and the Ring of Fire for the second fight.
  3. Comment: This boss is rather unusual. He starts the battle with a ranged attack. Afterwards he spends the entire fight repeating the same combo - two horizontal hits, one vertical hit. He's very easy to stagger and doesn't have much health. When he's almost dead he may back away, turn his back on you and... fart on you. Then he'll start praying and immediately escape the arena. You don't even need to kill him to win the battle. In the second fight he gains some new ice attacks. He can jump onto his sword and spin on it, creating icicles around himself. His sword swings can also create icicles, giving them lots of range.

Captain Lotus-Vision

2 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter three mini-bosses - Chapter 3 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: After defeating Kang-Jin Loong you will enter the prison in Pagoda Realm. As you climb to the upper floor you'll reach the Upper Pagoda shrine. From there you should jump down into a hole, onto the roof.
  2. Rewards: 1,847 experience points, 1,202 Will, 2x Cold Iron Leaves, Mind Core, Lotus-Vision Captain Spirit, Frostsprout Twig.
  3. Comment: The boss is very annoying. He uses exclusively ranged attacks, can fire lasers (when the projectile glows purple, dodge) and multiple projectiles (low damage but can stun you for a long while). He also teleports around the arena, occasionally creating a field that drains your health and buffs enemies (unless you've killed Captain Wise-Voice before). In the second phase he'll create several lasers on the ground, which attack anything positioned low. His final attack is summoning a torrent of lasers as pictured above. Observe your surroundings and do not touch the lasers. Jump over them or use Pillar Stance, remembering to use strong, charged attacks.

Apramana Bat

3 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter three mini-bosses - Chapter 3 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: Go to Turtle Island on the Bitter Lake. Instead of going uphill, walk near the lake. You'll spot a huge skeleton in the distance. That's where the boss is.
  2. Rewards: 1,847 experience points, 1,203 Will, 2x Cold Iron Leaves.
  3. Comment: Be patient during this fight. The boss often rises into the air, preventing you from attacking him. You have to wait for it to strike first. Try to go for perfect dodges, as you'll be able to hit it more before it flies away. Aside from its regular aerial attacks, the bat can also scream, creating waves of frost. If they touch you for too long, you'll be frozen - mash the displayed button, Fortunately you'll be assisted by an NPC. He'll support you, dealing major damage and healing you when necessary.

Non-White

4 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter three mini-bosses - Chapter 3 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: You'll face this boss twice, as he'll retreat after the first fight. Both times you'll face him in the Valley of Ecstasy, near the Mindfulness Cliff.
  2. Rewards: 1,847 experience points, 1,203 Will, 2x Cold Iron Leaves, Non-White's Spirit.
  3. Comment: While the boss's moveset is reasonably small, he has two stances, both of which change the fight's mechanics. He starts off fighting with an ice weapon. His attacks inflict frost. He can block your attacks, as shown by the meter above his health, at least until you deplete it. Be aggressive and dodge when he counter-attacks. In his second stance he swaps to a poison weapon, so consider getting some poison medicine beforehand. Aside from regular attacks he also moves very quickly, sometimes even teleporting in front of you. In this stance he is, however, more vulnerable to your attacks.

Non-Able

  1. Location: This enemy is located above the Brook of Bliss shrine, in the Valley of Ecstasy. Near the trees you will notice a kneeling enemy with his hands cuffed.
  2. Rewards: 1,847 experience points, 1,310 Will, 2x Cold Iron Leaves, Iron Bull Blood and the Non-Able's Spirit.
  3. Comment: The fight with the Non-Able has two phases. The first one is very simple, as the opponent fights mainly with kicks. You should save your spells for the second phase. When his health drops to zero, he will shatter the handcuffs and get more formidable. He can combine kicks and short-range punches into combos. Watch out when he starts charging an attack while standing in place. Get ready to dodge, transform or use another defensive skill (such as Pillar Stance).
