Black Myth Wukong is an action RPG with powerful bosses as the enemies (well, some players would argue that Denuvo is the main antagonist, though). A great number of interesting and diverse characters will stand in the player's way, ranging from humanoid opponents to overgrown animals or legendary dragons. Black Myth Wukong tells the story based on Journey to the West. It is a tale rooted in Chinese mythology. The protagonist of Black Myth Wukong is called Destined One and is tasked to go on a journey to face various threats. He is predefined. So, unfortunately, there is no character creation at the moment, and there is a slim chance, close to zero, that it will ever change. When we play, we can't select appearance, except, of course, for armor and weapon

What's more, we can’t pick a female protagonist in Black Myth Wukong either, or at least at this point the developers don't have something like that officially planned. The main character is a male, anthropomorphic monkey. The same goes for titular Sun Wukong (we play him only for a brief moment in the tutorial, fighting Erlang, the Sacred Divinity).
So, is there a chance that we will see a female protagonist in the future? This is rather doubtful, although it remains to be seen whether the developers will add such an option to please their fans. In Black Myth Wukong, admittedly, there are not many female characters, however, they do play important roles. Most of the character models used for the game are male characters or animal-like creatures, though.
