Black Myth Wukong: Chapter Two mini-bosses Black Myth Wukong guide, tips

Black Myth Wukong contains a lot of fights with mini-bosses. On this page of the guide we have described all the mini-bosses in the second chapter of the game, their attacks and the rewards for defeating them.

Last update: 26 August 2024

Black Myth Wukong is full of mini-bosses - enemies that are stronger than regular opponents but weaker and less complex than full-fledged bosses. These enemies usually drop a spirit, which allows you to transform - temporarily taking on the form of that boss. On this guide page, we have listed all the mini-bosses you will encounter in the second chapter of the game, described their attacks and the rewards received for the fight.

Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw

1 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter Two mini-bosses - Chapter 2 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: You'll encounter this enemy in a small lake near the Village Entrance, at Sandgate Village.
  2. Rewards : 758 experience points, 756 Will, Stone Spirit, Yaoguai Core, Tadpole, Evil Repelling Medicament Formula (you can give it to the NPC standing at the top of the nearby stairs to unlock the ability to create medicine from gathered ingredients).
  3. Comment: Most of the electric frog's moveset is identical to the frog mini-boss from previous chapter. Beware of its new electric attacks - the boss can summon electric projectiles by spitting them immediately (they fly low - Pillar Stance comes in handy here) or by spinning them around himself before firing (Cloud Step will prove helpful). When the boss roars, it's about to call down lightning bolts - sprint around the arena and dodge them. Watch out for two new tongue attacks - a near-instant stab (it has a long range and the boss uses it when it's far away) and a grab (very similar animation to regular tongue swings, but can't be avoided with Pillar Stance).

Earth Wolf

2 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter Two mini-bosses - Chapter 2 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: You'll face the wolf deep inside Sandgate Village, in the area after the Village Entrance altar.
  2. Rewards: 758 experience points, 776 Will, Stone Spirit, Yaoguai Core, Iron Bull Blood, Earth Wolf Spirit.
  3. Comment: Before fighting the wolf dispose of the nearby enemies, as they may prove more problematic than the boss itself. The opponent is very simplistic, using predictable, low-damage melee attacks. You should only really worry about its devastating charge which it uses when you move away from him. When the boss starts charging at you while exposing its sharp back, be ready to dodge to the side.

Second Prince of Flowing Sands

3 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter Two mini-bosses - Chapter 2 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: You'll face this duo at the end of Sandgate Village.
  2. Rewards: 1,102 experience points, 1,022 Will, 2x Silk, Stone Spirit, Yaoguai Core, Iron Bull Blood, Second Prince Spirit.
  3. Comment: This fight is very unique - you fight two enemies at once. The larger foe, the prince, is your main opponent, and defeating him will end the fight . The smaller opponent, the king, spends most of the fight running away from you and standing on stone structures, throwing rocks. You can destroy the structures with a powerful attack (such as the Wandering Wight Spirit) or bait the prince into destroying them himself. You can either get rid of the king or ignore him - his health is very low, rocks deal low damage and can distract the prince if you bait him into hitting him with them.
  4. The prince attacks by swinging his mace, using short, predictable combos. If you kill the king, the prince will go berserk - his attacks will become slightly faster and he will gain access to ranged attacks. He can now throw the mace at you like a boomerang or create long, narrow shockwaves by slamming his weapon down. Watch out for his very quick headbutts. If the King is still alive when the Prince dies, he will flee, ending the fight.

First Prince of Flowing Sands

4 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter Two mini-bosses - Chapter 2 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: You will face the giant rat inside a cave in the Valley of Despair. If you didn't kill the king while fighting the Second Prince, the fight will be mandatory. If you killed him, the fight will be optional - you will need to interact with the cliff edge in the cave to summon the boss.
  2. Rewards: 1,102 experience points, 1,023 Will, 2x Yarn, 2x Silk, Arhat Gold Piece.
  3. Comment: The boss is large, attacking with short, powerful combos. He is, however, clumsy enough to fall over after many attacks, leaving himself vulnerable. You can try to approach him from the side or behind, but watch out for his wide arm swings and tail swings. Remember to use your spells, wait for your turn and only strike when the boss is done attacking, and you should handle him easily.

Tiger's Acolyte

5 - Black Myth Wukong: Chapter Two mini-bosses - Chapter 2 - Black Myth Wukong Guide
  1. Location: You will face the swordsman on the bridge at Windrest Hamlet.
  2. Rewards: 758 experience points, 756 Will, Stone Spirit, Yaoguai Core, Old Rattle-Drum, Tiger's Acolyte Soul.
  3. Comment: Beware of the arena above all - the bridge the fight takes place on is narrow and very easy to fall off of, either on accident or after being hit. Stay near the center of the bridge to avoid instant death. The gaps between enemy attacks are just a bit too short to fit in a full light combo - stop your combos just before the final hit. His most powerful attack is a jumping downward thrust, which is heavily telegraphed and easy to avoid. Beware of the shockwaves he can send out when he's further away. The opponent's health is low, so you should be able to easily kill the boss using your spells and transformations.
