Last update: 04 November 2024

This page of the guide to Dragon Age: The Veilguard contains a map of Dock Town from the city of Minrathous. We showed all the important places in the port district - we marked Beacons, Eluvian Gate, Lyrium Dagger, Merchants, Points of Interest, Timelost Hoards, Chests, Main Quests, Side Quests, Companion Quests, Codex Entries, Mementos, Notes, Boss Encounters, FenHarel Altars, Evanuris Altars, and blocked passages. This information will be useful for you to search Dock Town 100%.

Note - Due to events in the main storyline, some activities and locations in Dock Town may change or be blocked. We recommend saving your game frequently and exploring Dock Town right after unlocking the Exploration Map.

On separate pages of the guide you will find interactive maps to the other main locations:

  1. Lighthouse;
  2. Arlathan Forest;
  3. Crossroads;
  4. Treviso;
  5. Hossberg Wetlands;
  6. Necropolis Halls;
  7. Rivain Coast .

The city of Minrathous

Minrathous is the capital of the Tevinter Empire in Thedas, inhabited by humans, elves, and dwarves. The metropolis is also the seat of the Shadow Dragons faction.

After the prologue begins, you will be in Minrathous for the first time - the party will need to navigate the streets of the attacked city. This is a linear crossing with a designated path.

Dock Town District

You cannot explore all of Minrathous during the game. There is one large district available called Dock Town. You will first visit this location during the main quest The Smuggled Relic Case, which involves contacting the Shadow Dragons.

During your first visit, you cannot freely explore Dock Town and must focus on the main quest objectives. Dock Town will be unlocked as an exploration map later in the game with complete freedom to explore.

100% map completion

To achieve 100% Dock Town completion status you must find:

  1. 25 Chests;
  2. 2 Timelost Hoards;
  3. 1 Evanuris Altar;
  4. 2 Fen'Harel Altars.

You can check your progress on the map screen - it appears in the upper left corner.

Albin Bataris and other bosses

The first main quest in Dock Town (The Smuggled Relic Case) will feature a boss fight with Albin Bataris.

Our interactive map shows the location of the duel with Albin and battles with other bosses that you may come across during future visits to Minrathous. Prepare before approaching each boss marked on our map - heal your heroes, save the game, and check your equipment.

Quests

During the first two visits to Dock Town, you must complete the main quests necessary to progress the story. Later in the game, there will also be opportunities to start side quests in the city and do companion quests.

Chests & Timelost Hoards

You can find large and small chests in various parts of the Minrathous harbor district. Large chests may hold new weapons, armor, and other gear for party members, in addition to the standard loot. Furthermore, there are unique Timelost Hoards chests to be found.

Lyrium Dagger (Companion Abilities)

Our interactive map shows you all the places where you can use the Lyrium Dagger in Dock Town. This artifact will allow you to activate the abilities of your companions, and thanks to them, you can unlock new passages. The list of such interactions will grow as new party members join.

Merchants

There are various traders around the city, but you cannot reach all of them during your first visit to Dock Town. This will only become possible once you have access to the exploration map.

Dock Town traders specialize in specific types of goods. The descriptions on our map include information about their specializations and the unique items they sell (e.g. Mementos).

Beacons & Eluvian Gate

The Eluvian Gate could be used to reach Dock Town, but you can also use the gate later in the game to travel to Crossroads.

Exploring the city will allow you to unlock Beacons in Dock Town. Each of these objects is a potential fast travel point, and you can also change the composition of your active party at these locations.

Blocked passages and Quest Items

Some doors and gates in Dock Town may be inaccessible and we marked these types of places on the interactive map. From the marker descriptions you will learn what the requirements are to unlock a given passage (e.g. obtaining a key, activating an Energy Node or simply advancing in the story).

The most important type of quest item found in Dock Town are Power Crystals, which can be used to activate Energy Nodes.

Points of Interest

You can find out about the points of interest in Dock Town from our map. These can be various mechanisms, or, for instance, friendly dogs and cats that your character can pet.

Mementos

This is a special type of collectible in the game. You can obtain Mementos as loot or buy them from selected merchants. Collecting these secrets has a practical use - you can collect the Caretaker Power required to develop the Caretaker's Workshop from the Lighthouse location.

Codex Entries & Notes

These are the minor secrets concealed throughout different areas of Minrathous. Collecting Codex Entries will allow you to accumulate experience. The developers didn't provide any rewards for collecting Notes, but thanks to them you can gain, for example, hints for puzzles or additional knowledge about selected locations, factions, or characters.

Fen'Harel Altars & Evanuris Altar

There are several secret altars in Dock Town where you can solve the puzzles associated with them.

Every completed Fen'Harel Altar is a skill point, and thanks to completing the Evanuris Altar puzzle you can extend your character's health bar permanently.
