How to arrange statues?
In the game hub, in the courtyard beyond the lighthouse, there are six column-like statues. Each of these statues has a handle that allows them to be rotated 90 degrees. The statues are combined in pairs - six statues, so three pairs. The aim of the puzzle is to arrange the columns so that the statues creating a pair face each other. Correctly aligning all three pairs will open a secret room in the library.
Where is the first pair of columns?
The first pair of columns stand on the balcony - climb the stairs in the courtyard in the west of the map. The columns are right next to each other, so position them so they face each other.
Where is the second pair of columns?
The first statue of the second pair stands very close to the first. You will walk right past it when entering the balcony, as it is located at the very top of the stairs leading there. Turn it so that it is facing east.
The second statue of the second pair stands at the eastern end of the map, right next to the dining room. Turn it so it's facing west.
Where is the third pair of columns?
The first statue of the third pair stands behind the workshop, in the north of the map. Turn it so that it is facing east.
The second statue of the third pair stands under the office, also in the north of the map - under the room where Neve can be found after the first chapter. You have to go down to the office using levitating platforms. Turn the statue so that it is facing west.
What do statues open?
Solving the puzzle opens the library, which serves as a war room - this is where you gather your companions before each mission. Before calling your companions to the table, go through the circular door at the side of the library. There are three lights above them that should now be lit.
Correctly positioning the columns opened the path to the music room. Inside you will find a codex entry, some raw materials, and over 400 gold - a lot for the beginning of the game.
How to repair the astrolabe?
You can solve the second half of this puzzle much later, after recruiting Emmrich in the Where the Dead Must Go main quest. Recruiting the professor will teach you how to lead the wisps. Two of these are required to open the secret door in the music room you unlocked. The first wisp is already in the music room, and the second one is on the same balcony where the first pair of sculptures stood. Lead them to the two small pedestals in the music room and go through the opened portal.
On the other side of the portal, go to the nearby balcony and take the power crystal to activate the second portal. This will take you to a laser emitter - you need to aim the laser beam at the three crystals at the top of the spires. You just need to keep the beam aimed for a moment to activate each crystal. Once all the crystals have been activated, return through the portal to the balcony.
There, interact with the blue orb to repair the astrolabe. This permanently reduces the cost of making upgrades at the Caretaker's workshop. You can now also enter the previously locked room on the ground floor, opposite the music room, where you'll find some loot.
Do not return to the ground floor through the portal. After repairing the astrolabe, jump over the railing and off the balcony. This will earn you the Nostalgia Trip achievement.
