Hub

The Lighthouse is a safe haven in the game world and a place to which you can return many times in between exploring other lands and completing quests.

The Lighthouse is one of the locations in the Fade, and you'll first get there after completing chapter 1. You can fast travel to the Lighthouse from the world map, and you will also automatically return there at certain points in the main story.

Companions & Companion Quests

The Lighthouse is a place where you can meet up with your companions recruited during the campaign. Each party member will occupy a specific location in the Lighthouse, although they can also move around in certain situations.

Additional markers may appear next to companion icons on the map - they inform about a new conversation or an available companion quest.

Take care of your companions' quests on an ongoing basis, or you may lose your chance to complete them. This can happen if you advance too much in the main storyline meaning that important events will occur that affect the characters or the game world.

Blocked gates

You can't explore 100% of the locations in Lighthouse right away. Our interactive map has information about blocked passages (example in the image). In the marker descriptions we inform you about the circumstances of unlocking new Lighthouse locations and it is usually related to progress in the main storyline.

Lighthouse Eluvian Gate

The gate on the lowest level of the Lighthouse is used for fast travel - you can use it to travel to Crossroads and you will always start in this location after selecting fast travel from the world map. The Eluvian Gate will become available once you have advanced sufficiently in the main storyline.

Quests

Main quests related to the Lighthouse start automatically as you advance in the campaign, the same goes for side quests. Optional quests require you to reach a marker and interact with a character or item.

Caretaker's Workshop

This is a unique place to upgrade your equipment. You can level up your workshop by spending Caretaker Power - a resource collected, among others, by finding the Mementos. This will allow you to develop weapons and equipment to higher levels, and thus increase their stats even more.

Wardrobe & Mirror of Transformation

Both of these objects are in the room where Varric is. Wardrobe lets you change the appearance of your heroes - you can choose between cosmetic items from the Appearance group. You can also claim free Cosmetics from various editions of the game.

Mirror of Transformation opens the character creator. You can change selected elements of Rook's appearance, though some of the options are permanently locked.

Decor

The game allows you to decorate selected rooms and areas in the hub. Once you interact, a list of compatible Decor items you have already unlocked will be displayed. You can find them in the game world as loot, earn them from selected quests, or buy them from selected merchants.

Rook's Room

During one of your visits to the Lighthouse, you will unlock a room for Rook. You can place some of the hero's personal items in them. This place is also used to communicate with Solas, who was trapped in Fade after the events of the prologue.

Statues & Points of Interest

Our interactive map will tell you about interesting places in the Lighthouse that are not marked with unique icons in the game. These include rotating statues that are tied to the secret Music Room puzzle.

Chests

You can find loot chests in the Lighthouse. They usually contain small items, such as gold, valuable items or materials.

Codex Entries & Notes

The Lighthouse is filled with smaller collectibles and you can learn where to find them on our interactive map. Notes contain information about the Lighthouse and the game world or useful tips. Codex Entries deepen the lore and their discovery is rewarded with XP.
