Dragon Age Veilguard: Harding quests Dragon Age Veilguard guide, walkthrough

Harding is a dwarven scout whom you will meet at the very beginning of Dragon Age Veilguard. On this page of the guide you will find a detailed description of the passage of the thread associated with her.

Last update: 31 October 2024

The resolute Harding has been a member of your party since the very first minutes of Dragon Age Veilguard. Throughout the story, you will have the opportunity to get to know the heroine better and help discover her destiny. On this page of the guide, we will take you through the scout's entire storyline, including all the quests associated with her.

An Unfamiliar Sense

You will receive the first quest related to Harding at a similar time as those for other hero - around chapter 4. When visiting the Lighthouse, pay attention to whether exclamation marks appear next to your companions' icons on the map. Once you see the exclamation mark next to Harding, talk to her to activate An Unfamiliar Sense quest.

If you go too far with the the main storyline, some companions' quests may become unavailable later!

The first part of the quest will take you to the Crossroads. Go through the eluvian on the lower floor of the Lighthouse, then board the boat at the middle dock leading to Arlathan Forest.

Following the mission marker, head through the next rooms of the Crossroads until you reach the mirror leading to Arlathan. Use the passage.

Go through the Veil Jumpers camp and find Harding. Her location will be indicated by the mission marker and the heroine's icon on the map.

Once you start the main part of the quest, follow Harding. After a short conversation, the scout will learn the skill of manipulating rock ledges, which will be useful during exploration. For more information on issuing commands to companions, see How to give commands to companions?.

Conversations with Harding during this quest provide a good opportunity to develop a romantic relationship with her. Look out for romantic options marked with a heart.

Your dialogue options may depend on your previous relations with Harding.

Continue your journey through the forest, using Harding's new ability. After reaching the rock monolith, your task will be to extend three platforms, which you will use to climb to the upper floor.

When the game asks you to find a screaming man in trouble, go around the stone hands statue and activate the rock platform behind them.

Approach the wounded elf. Watch a cut-scene, during which Harding experiences a vision. Shortly after it, the quest will end.

The Waiting Stone

You will receive the next quest later in the game. Worried, Harding makes contact with the isolated dwarven community that inhabits the Deep Roads. This region is located on the southwestern edge of the map. Go to that place.

Follow the narrow, underground corridors while fighting dangerous beasts that dwell underground. After reaching the gates of the dwarven city you will meet a man named Stalgard. Follow the grumpy native into the caves.

You will encounter Darkspawn along the way. When fighting them, try to destroy the blood cysts as quickly as possible to prevent new monsters from respawning.

The large, golden gate leading to the oracle is overgrown with plague. To destroy it, you have to find the local sources of the plague.

Head to the wooden scaffolding nearby. The quest marker will lead you to the elevator. To activate it, use Harding's power (available in the radial skill menu) and remove the stone ledge blocking the shaft.

Go through the room with flowing lava and enter the narrow corridor. The compass will lead you to two separate branches, each containing sources of plague that has to be destroyed.

You can reach the first one by walking on the platforming section above the lava lake. Climb up onto the scaffolding, then jump across the hanging platforms. Destroy the bulbs you encounter along the way, which will open the path for you to proceed. Some of them are hiding behind rock shelves, which you can move using Harding's power.

The wooden trough will lead you directly to the source of the plague. Defeat the large group of enemies in the area, then destroy all the bloody growths. The winding veins will point you to the locations of the cysts.

Watch out for rocks falling from the ceiling. Red circles inform about danger.

Destroy the plague-infested passageway that will take you back to the lava room. Now head towards the second plague source marked on the map.

Before climbing the rocks, shoot down the cysts behind the destructible planks.

At the source of the plague you will fight a furious ogre. This enemy is quite tough, so be careful and, if necessary, collect the healing potions scattered around the area. Once you defeat him, simply destroy the cysts connected to the source and then the main bulb itself.

The mission compass will lead you back to the golden gate, which can be cleansed.

Stalgard will lead you to the Oracle. However, the conversation with her will be interrupted by the boss.

  1. Wrath of the Stone is a fairly durable enemy, but vulnerable to necrotic damage.
  2. His attacks are quite slow, but they deal a lot of damage. Try to keep your distance and jump away from the danger areas marked in red.
  3. Kill all lesser enemies whenever they spawn on the arena.

After defeating the boss, Harding will return to talk to the Oracle. Shortly after that, the party will return to the Lighthouse, where you will speak with Harding in private once more (one of the available options is for romancing). Immediately after this, The Waiting Stone quest will end.
