High Anderfels - Griffon Aerie
This is one of the locations in the Anderfels region, and you can visit it as part of the main quest A Warden's Best Friend, which is related to contacting Davrin, one of the Grey Wardens.
This is a quest map visited only once per game. Once you have taken care of everything and completed the main quest, you won't return to it again later in the campaign.
Hossberg Wetlands
The Wetlands is the main exploration map in Anderfels. You'll first get there while playing the main quest Something Wrong.
You can freely return to Hossberg Wetlands by selecting this location from the world map. This will allow you to go on new quests, discover new places, make purchases from merchants, and uncover new secrets.
New companion - Davrin
Davrin is a Grey Warden whom you will meet in the quest A Warden's Best Friend while exploring the High Anderfels location.
Davrin is accompanied by the griffon Assan - the pet appears during conversations and cutscenes, and can also take part in fights (some of Davrin's skills allow him to be summoned). You can also pet the griffon after returning to the Lighthouse.
For more information about Darvin, check out the List of all companions page.
100% map completion
The map you can complete 100% is Hossberg Wetlands. To be found there are:
- 18 Chests;
- 2 Timelost Hoards;
- 2 Evanuris Altars;
- 2 Fen'Harel Altars.
You can check your progress on the map screen - it appears in the upper left corner.
Frenzied Ogre and other bosses
Frenzied Ogre is a miniboss that you have to face on the High Anderfels map. This is required to complete the quest with Davrin.
You can encounter the next bosses in Hossberg Wetlands - we have marked their lairs in the wetlands on the map. Prepare before approaching each boss marked on our map - heal your heroes, save the game, and check your equipment.
Main Quests and Side Quests
The first visits to the Hossberg Wetlands and the High Anderfels are part of the main quest required to advance in the campaign.
While exploring the Exploration Map in the wetlands, side quests and companion quests become available. We have marked their starting points.
Chests and Timelost Hoards
You can discover chests by exploring the Anderfels region. Small chests contain mostly low-quality loot. Large chests and Timelost Hoards conceal more valuable treasures, including unique equipment for specific party members.
Fen'Harel Altars and Evanuris Altars
As you explore Hossberg Wetlands, you may come across secret altars and each of them has a little puzzle associated with it.
Every finished Fen'Harel Altar is a skill point, and thanks to completing the Evanuris Altar puzzle you can extend your character's health bar permanently.
Lyrium Dagger (Companion Skills)
We've marked the locations where you can use the Lyrium Dagger artifact on our interactive maps. This is a unique piece of equipment that allows you to activate the abilities of your party members. First of all, it allows you to unlock new paths and reach previously inaccessible locations. The list of Lyrium Dagger interactions will expand as you recruit more companions.
Eluvian Gates and Beacons
You can access separate Eluvian Gates leading to High Anderfels and Hossberg Wetlands while exploring the Crossroads hub.
In the wetlands, you can also find and activate Beacons, which will make it easier for you to rely on fast travel. Beacons also allow you to quickly change your team's composition.
Merchants
When visiting Hossberg Wetlands you can meet friendly merchants - Depending on the trader, buy and sell options are available. The faction merchant shop can be further upgraded.
Every merchant has a specialization - the descriptions of our markers inform about the items for sale (e.g. weapons, armor, mementos, decor, appearance).
Mementos
This is a unique category of collectibles that you can obtain in two main ways - finding in the game world or buying from merchants. Collecting Mementos will allow you to gain Caretaker Power points. These can then be spent at the Caretaker's Workshop, located in the Lighthouse.
Codex Entries & Notes
In addition to important collectibles, you can also come across smaller secrets in Anderfels. Notes will provide you with knowledge about the world, while Codex Entries are rewarded with free experience points.
Points of Interest
On the interactive map, we have marked important and interesting locations that don't have their unique icons in the game. These include ladders, elevators, ziplines, and interactive statues, which can be rotated to solve environmental puzzles.
Quest Items
You can discover quest items on the maps in addition to the standard loot, and all the most important ones are marked on our interactive map. These are, for example, keys or Power Crystals that allow you to activate various mechanisms.
