This page of the guide for Dragon Age: The Veilguard includes an interactive map of Arlathan Forest - a region explored during the In Entropy's Grasp main quest and subsequent quests of the second chapter. The locations visited include Elven Ruins, Veil Jumper Camp, D'Meta's Crossing, Ritual Site and Arlathan Crater. Using our map will allow you to learn the locations of Bellara - a new party member, Chests, Quest Items, Merchants, Beacons, Main Quests, Boss Encounters, FenHarel Altars, Evanuris Altars, Codex, Notes, Timelost Hoards, Lyrium Dagger and Points of Interest. All this will make it easier to explore Arlathan Forest maps.

On separate pages of the guide you will find interactive maps to the other main locations:

  1. Lighthouse;
  2. Crossroads;
  3. Treviso;
  4. Dock Town;
  5. Hossberg Wetlands;
  6. Necropolis Halls;
  7. Rivain Coast.

New companion - Bellara Lutare

Bellara will automatically join the party shortly after you arrive in the Elven Ruins region. This will allow you to explore this place together.

For more information about Bellara, see the List of all companions page.

100% map completion

To obtain 100% completion of Arlathan Forest you must find:

  1. 11 Chests;
  2. 2 Timelost Hoards;
  3. 4 Evanuris Altars;
  4. 3 Fen'Harel Altars.

You can check your progress on the map screen - it appears in the upper left corner. You can't get everywhere right away. Some parts of the map will only become available after, e.g. unlocking a companion quest.

Elven Ruins

This is the first region of Arlathan Forest you'll begin exploring after meeting a group of Veil Jumpers. There is one main path through the entire ruins, but a more thorough exploration will allow you to obtain optional loot. Along the way, you'll have to fight battles and solve simple puzzles from time to time.

Veil Jumper Camp

You will reach the ally camp for the first time after defeating the ogre in the Elven Ruins. It is part of the main Arlathan Forest map. There are, among others, the first merchant, a fast travel point or some collectibles.

In the area, there are also Sanctum Outlook and Ruins Reach. Some passages are initially blocked and will only become available once you advance in the story.

D'Meta's Crossing

The heroes have to go through this abandoned location during the Shadow Crossing main quest. The path is linear.

Ritual Site

This is a smaller location only visited once during The Singing Blade main quest. At the very end of the map you will fight a boss - The Lyrium Ghoul - and obtain the Lyrium Dagger. This is a gadget that will allow you to activate party members' skills while exploring the game world.

Arlathan Crater

This is a quest location visited later in the campaign, during the Blood of Arlathan main quest. Rook must first pass through the Temple of the Sun, where the use of weapons and skills is temporarily blocked. Only after moving away from the temple will you gain access to them and encounter your first enemies.

Arlathan Forest Exploration Map

Once you advance in the game, the main part of the forest will become an exploration map - you can explore it thoroughly to find new secrets, solve new puzzles or take on new optional quests.

Evanuris Altars & Fen'Harel Altars

These are hidden altars available on the elven forest map. There are various puzzles associated with them.

Every completed Fen'Harel Altar is 1 skill point, and thanks to completing the Evanuris Altar puzzle you can extend your health bar permanently main character.

Ogre and other bosses

In addition to fighting regular monsters, in Arlathan Forest you'll also encounter several bosses. These include Frenzied Sentinel and the Ogre, who must be defeated in the final part of exploring the Elven Ruins.

Bosses have longer health bars and use powerful unique attacks. Eliminating them is required to progress. Prepare before approaching each boss marked on our map - heal your heroes, save the game, and check your equipment.

Quests

The first visit to Arlathan Forest is part of the second chapter of the campaign and tackle some longer main quests. The first of the main quests is In Entropy's Grasp.

Later in the campaign you can visit Arlathan Forest to play side quests. and companion tasks.

Chests and Timelost Hoards

While exploring the ruins and other parts of Arlathan Forest, you may regularly come across loot containers. Large chests may contain, among other things, new weapons and equipment. In small boxes you will usually find gold, valuable items and materials. Timelost Hoards are the rarest chests with unique equipment.

Quest Items

The main quest items in Arlathan Forest are Power Crystals. On the interactive map we have marked where to pick them up and where they can be placed on pedestals. This will allow you to unlock new passages.

Merchants

You will meet the first merchant when you reach Veil Jumper Camp. You can sell them valuables and buy equipment. Some items are initially unavailable and will be unlocked once you advance that store to higher ranks.

Points of Interest

Our interactive map marks potentially important and interesting places in Arlathan Forest. These include Resonance Amplifiers, where you have to protect Bellara, and ballistae used to destroy large obstacles.

Codex & Notes

These are smaller categories of secrets to find in the forest. Finding Codex collectibles unlocks new entries and you will also receive XP.

Notes are various notes and messages. There is no reward for discovering them, but they may, for example, provide a hint to solving a puzzle or deepen your knowledge of a given location.
