On this page of the Elex 2 guide you'll find a walkthrough of the Rat's Paranoia quest. You'll receive it after your first conversation with the Rat in the Fort's upper district. To access this area you must first complete the Berserker's Trust quest - you'll find a walkthrough on a separate page.

Talking to Berit
Your task is to find the people plotting against the Rat. He'll ask you to talk with Berit and Ejnar. Both of these characters can be found in the Fort's upper district, with their locations marked on the map. Your conversation with Berit will go nowhere. You don't even have to talk to her, unless you want to know what she thinks of the Rat (you won't be rewarded for it though).
Talking to Ejnar
Go see Ejnar and start a conversation about the Rat. At some point Ejnar will flee and you'll be stopped by a guard. Now that Ejnar ran away you must find some clues as to where he could've gone.
Where is Ejnar?
Enter his house, that is, the building in front of which you originally spoke to him. There's a journal on the bed. Now head to the Grotto's main entrance, the Morkons' headquarters.
Deciding Ejnar's fate
You'll find Ejnar in front of the Grotto's entrance - if he's not there, wait for him or come back later. Ejnar must travel from the Fort to the Grotto and it's possible you may have gotten there before him if you teleported. Now you must decide whether to let Ejnar go free or to kill him. Ejnar cannot return to the Berserkers - this dialogue option won't bring you anywhere.
- Kill Ejnar - doesn't benefit you in any way other than getting experience for defeating Ejnar.
- Let Ejnar go - this option will let you decide whether to send Ejnar to the Clerics or the Outlaws. Regardless of your choice, Ejnar will offer to teach you some combat skills.
Talking to the Rat and completing the quest
Finally, return to the Rat. He'll give you 50 Elexit crystals if you killed Ejnar, but if you let him go you can lie and still get the reward. After your talk with the Rat the mission will be completed.
