This page of the Elex 2 guide contains a walkthrough of the Gosta's Contest quest. You will receive the mission from Gosta after you pay him to talk about the rumors. The mission consists of duels with several characters from the Grotto. Do that to earn Elexit crystals.
You have to bet on yourself in duels - 50, 150, or 250 Elexit crystals. If you win, you will get twice the amount minus 10%. It is worth adding that losing a fight won't fail the quest. After getting defeated, you can fight another opponent.
First opponent: Dixxon
The first enemy is Dixxon - he is on the upper level of the Grotto. He is the easiest opponent - he has little health and does not deal much damage.
Second opponent: Alexej
The second rival is Alexej - fighting him can be problematic. Try to avoid his attacks or block them, because the opponent deals high damage.
Third opponent: Jagun
Jagun is the third rival. He has a lot of health points and can knock you down with one hit if your character is at a low level. Defeating him is possible only after gaining enough levels for Jax and obtaining better equipment. However, you can earn crystals even by losing to Jagun. After you have placed a bet on a fight (if you are unable to defeat Jagun, place 50 crystals) and exit the Basement - a worker will talk to you. He will ask you to lose on purpose and promise you a reward.
After the defeat, head to the left corridor (on the same level where you fought Jagun) and keep going straight until you get to the passage leading down.
The worker will be at the end of the stairs. Talk to him to get 200 Elexit crystals.
Last enemy: Batulga
Batulga is the last rival. He is an incredibly strong opponent who can be defeated only in the late stages of the game. If you don't want to win and you want to finish the mission quickly, you can just lose to him - defeat also brings rewards.
- If you win against Batulga, Gosta will offer you to buy a potion that increases Constitution permanently by 1 point.
- If you lose, Batulga will give you 50 Elexit crystals, and Gosta will give you a small Elex drink that grants some experience points.
Regardless of how the fight ends, after talking to the quest giver, the Gosta's Contest quest in Elex 2 will be completed.
