Last update: 16 March 2022
On this page of the guide to Elex 2 you'll find tips on how quest tracking works in your journal - how to enable quest tracking and what kind of markers does it place on the world map.
Starting new quests
Elex 2doesn't feature quest-giver markers which could make finding them easier. Some quests serve as continuations of previous quests, but most have to found on your own or with our walkthrough.
You should talk to all uniquely named NPCs. There's a chance they may have a quest for you. Some NPCs accost Jax when he gets close or call for him when he walks past them.
Tracking current quests
You can track the quests added to Jax's journal. To do so you must highlight the specific quest (primary or secondary, from the quest tree to the left) and press the tracking button.
Tracking a quest may cause quest markers to appear on the world map. The exceptions are quests without a specific destination or with a destination Jax doesn't know yet.
The markers come in two main varieties. The first one are explorable area markers - these are circles on the map in which you must do something, for example find clues or a quest item.
The second one are quest-related NPCs - in this case the marker will show their exact location (if known).
You can track one quest at a time. If you want to track another one you must open your journal and find it on the active quests list.
