World exploration - killing enemies and reading notes
The basic way to get experience is to kill enemies - the stronger the opponent, the more experience points you will get. Watch out for the enemies marked with a skull, though, as you probably won't be able to defeat them. Aside from that, read all notes, letters and other such items. They don't grant a lot of points, but it's a free method that doesn't require any effort.
You can get experience from dead enemies faster by placing the appropriate stone in your weapon. Use Green Gemstones to gain extra points for each enemy.
Completing missions
Missions are also a great method. Agree to all the quests offered to you. It is also a good idea to complete all the missions that allow you to join a given faction: The Berserker's Trust, An Alb Agent and Morkon Values. You don't need to join any faction to complete these quests (you will make the decision outside of the mission). You should also focus on your companions' quests, because they consist of several stages - you will receive experience for each one.
When you try to enter a city for the first time, take the tour around it to get XP for it. You will get this option after entering the Fort and the Grotto.
Small Elex drinks
Special potions are scattered around the world of Elex 2 that provide 500 experience points when you drink the Small Elex Drink. Thanks to their blue color they are quite easily noticeable. You can also craft these Elex drinks yourself.
Skills that speed up gaining experience
You can gain experience faster by purchasing the appropriate skills from the Personality tree:
- Experienced Hunter - 5% more experience points for killed monsters.
- Bookworm - twice as much XP for reading notes, letters, etc.
- Practitioner - 5% more experience points for successfully completed quests.
