On this page of the Elex 2 guide, you will learn whether you can fail a quest or cancel it. In addition, we have included simple tips on how to avoid failing a mission.
The most important information is that in Elex 2 there is a risk of canceling a quest. It's not common, but you have to keep that in mind. A mission may fail, for example, if you refuse to do something that is part of that quest, let an important quest-related NPC die, or betray the quest giver.
If that happens, the game may show a message saying that the mission has been canceled. That quest will disappear from the journal and you will not be able to do it anymore, or get its rewards.
Another thing that can cancel a quest is the Destruction bar - this mainly concerns relations with your companions. The game informs you constantly whether the decisions you make are to the liking of the companion traveling with you, or whether they are contrary to his/her ideals.
If a companion gets angry enough, they may, in extreme cases, leave the team. This may result in canceling the quest or quests that were associated with that companion. You can avoid this problem by traveling with a person who shares Jax's views. For example, if you plan to choose options that increase the Destruction level, then choose a party member who will agree with you.
A good way to protect yourself from canceling a mission or losing a party member is to save the game before each conversation and important scene. This will allow you to undo any wrong choices or dialogue options. As for companions, remember that only the attitude of the party member who is traveling with Jax is affected. It does not affect the companions in the Bastion.
