While exploring the Fort (the Berserkers' headquarters), Hank the mysterious trader will approach you and offer to provide you with extremely valuable items if you give him 250 Elexit crystals. On this page of the Elex 2 game guide, you'll learn if it's worth investing your crystals in Hank.

Should you give Hank the crystals?

Hank is near the alchemist's house in the Fort. Once you approach him, he will automatically start a conversation and propose a deal. He promises that if you give him 250 Elexit crystals, he will return to you after a few days with some valuable items.

If you agree, come back to the same location after 2-3 days. Hank will give you a gold bar if you gave him one of the following items: Elex, iron ore, lockpick or beer. Hank will say that Vivian in the Castle will purchase the gold bar from you, which initiates the Bartering with Hank quest.

By talking to Vivian, you will learn that the gold bar is fake and worthless. You won't be able to find Hank in the Fort anymore, but Tilas (who is in the house Hank was standing in front of) will tell you that he may have gone to the Crater. Hank really is in the Crater and his location will be marked on the map. However, the trickster won't be willing to part with the crystals - if you want to recover at least some of them, you have to kill Hank. You won't gain anything by giving your crystals to Hank, except for the opportunity to complete a quest that will earn you experience points.
