Ways to unlock and general premises | Criminal Convoys Watch Dogs Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Criminal Convoys are one of the four main categories of optional missions, which you can play in your spare time (they are not available while on a main mission). The course of the majority of these missions is similar to the one of the eighth mission, of the first act of the game. These missions focus mainly on stopping the enemy convoys and killing, or debilitating the hostiles that travel on the convoy. The descriptions of the individual missions can be found on the following pages of this chapter.
The successive Criminal Convoy missions become available at random moments of the game and in random order.
The successive Detected Crimes become available at random moments of the game and in random order. You will get to know about the option to complete a side mission from the prompts that appear on the screen. Apart from the prompt, after it is unlocked on the world map, there appears a new marker (a small blue circle that symbolizes the starting point).
Three points to remember:
1) Unlike the detected Crimes, you do not need to hurry with starting these missions, when they become available, because they do not disappear abruptly from the world map.
2) Each Criminal Convoy counts as a separate mission so, from the time that you start one, you will be incapable of starting any other missions.
3) One of the requirements to complete the game in 100 is to complete all of the 18 convoy missions. Do not worry if not all of them are available from the very beginning, because they will be appearing on the map with your progress in the game (you can speed it up by completing the other side missions).
There are various rewards that you receive, after you complete the convoy missions and they have been listed below:
- Cash
- Experience points (you receive points for stopping the convoy, for eliminating certain people on the convoy and, optionally, for losing the pursuit)
- The "Critical Focus" skill (Regenerates Focus whenever Aiden is at the brink of dying)
- The "Destroyer" sniper rifle (it may come in handy while attacking convoys at a long distance, because a single shot is capable of stopping a vehicle)
- The "Road Rage" achievement/trophy (you need to complete 18 side missions)
Unfortunately, you also need to keep in mind that there are adverse effects of performing these missions. They include:
- deterioration of Aiden's reputation (try to avoid collateral damage)
- The possibility of police pursuit (this happens whenever a witness to the fire exchange calls the emergency number)
