Digital Trips | City Activities (minigames and challenges) Watch Dogs Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Digital trips are complex minigames that provide a lot of fun but, apart from outfits, achievements and the opportunity to present your score online, they do not introduce anything new into the game. The trip can be initiated directly from the phone, or by visiting one of the dealers that are marked on the map with a blue icon of the mouse head.
There are four games that you can choose from: Madness, Alone, Psychedelic and Spider-Tank. You can play them at any moment of the game, except while on a mission. They do not influence each other. Points are calculated within an individual game. Each of the minigames allow you to unlock certain skills, specialized for each game.
Spider-Tank
Spider-Tank is a challenge in which you take control of a big robot-spider. There are 15 missions available in the game, where you need to complete the objectives, within the allotted time. With each game, the tasks are identical and they always consist in destroying certain objects: vehicles, policemen or an armored vehicle. You are armed with a machine gun, of unlimited ammo, and rockets. The latter can be found after you destroy police cars. The best way to move around is, definitely, up in the air - you are safe there from any bullets and the jumps between buildings are longer, than at the street level.
Psychedelic
In the "Psychedelic" trip, you start the game up in the air and your task is to bounce off the colorful flowers that grow out of the ground. Just one fall - falling outside of the track - ends the game. To get as many points as possible, aim at the center of the flowers and fall through the circles along your way, which appear in your way. There are a dozen-or-so challenges available here, which you can elect only after you have beaten the previous one. With time, the route becomes more and more difficult: the flowers become smaller and take more time to sprout out of the ground and, with time, the screen becomes more and more blurred.
Madness
In the Madness challenge, you get to control an armored car, in a nightmarish version of Chicago. Skies are red and, apart from demons, you are the only one around here. The successive objectives appear on the screen and they need to be performed within the allotted amount of time. These are the challenges to run over a certain number of demons, perform the longest combo (Killstreak), or escape/destroy police cars. Your car is indestructible and, additionally, it can be modified by additional skills of the player, with the progression in the game.
Alone
Alone also is a very interesting experience. In the Ghost city,, which is under the control of the ctOS, you are the only living and you need to clear the city by removing the zones of Blackout, which are marked on the map. In the zones, vehicles do not work and to get to the main device, and hack into it, you need to take the slow way, operate from shadows and disable the crowds of the ctOS robots.
In this challenge, the death does not end the game and it only carries you over to the beginning of the most recently unlocked point. All around the city, you can find weapons, which you will find helpful, while unlocking the successive districts faster. Also here, the system of skills has been introduced, where you score points for each zone that you unlock.
