The green markers on the map, have been used to mark those of the apartments that you need to access through the hacking minigame, whereas the ones marked in red, are the ones that you need to unlock access to, via unlocking some other switches.
The Private Invasion missions consist in searching out the buildings, in whose local net there is a gap, and in hacking into the camera in the apartment itself. While viewing the camera view, on the apartment, you learn about the problems of its inhabitants, from the short conversations that they have. they do not affect you in any way, nor are they connected to the main storyline. The only thing they are is an element that diversifies the gameplay.
While hacking, you always have the access to the device that you can break into - a smartphone or a tablet - and you can always intercept the owner's data - often these are quite considerable sums of money, which makes it a way to round out your own budget. Each breaking is, additionally, rewarded with experience points and, after a predetermined number of hackings, with a bonus that you can see on the game progression bar. The apartments that you can break into, become visible after you unlock a ctOS tower for a given region. There are 30 such missions available, whose completing is necessary to complete the game in 100%. Completing all of the invasion missions is rewarded with the "Peephole" achievement/trophy.
Each mission boils down to locating the main box at the building, which you most usually need to activate, by following the communication routes that you can see after you activate the Profiler app. They come in white, if inactive, or in blue if the route is online. After that, you need to unlock the other boxes. Sometimes, it is necessary to circumvent the security measures, or complete a hacking minigame. If you are monitoring the line for too long, this will cause the owners of the apartment to detect the infringement and the connection will be terminated.
