Another of the new Gigs you'll have a chance of completing in Phantom Liberty expansion to Cyberpunk 2077 is The Man Who Killed Jason Foreman. Our walkthrough shows how and where to meet with Briana, how to examine the crime scene correctly, where in the old hotel Leon Rinder can be found, and finally how to handle the confrontation with Rinder.

Initiating the task and meeting with Briana

1. After reaching the quest marker, Mr. Hands will call, informing you about a recent massacre in Longshore Stacks and a potential gig.
2. You have to meet with Briana - the meeting is scheduled to be in the evening, so after reaching the location you can sit on the bench to fast-forward the time. Briana wants V to find and kill Leon Rinder, a person responsible for multiple murders. Pick up the shard from Briana.

Investigating the crime scene

You will get an optional objective involving investigating the area where the massacre took place. Set this objective as active, and minimap will show this zone in yellow. Use scanner to find potential evidence. These are:

1. metal barrier on the roof;
2. bullet marks on the wall (screenshot above);
3. drop point under the building;
4. shoe tracks;
5. damaged drone next to one of the buildings;
6. indentation in front of one of the buildings.

Decrypting the shard

1. The shard you've received is encrypted, and you need to hack it. This is a recording of a conversation between Leon Rinder and Slava Makarov. The easiest way is choosing it from the journal - you don't need to search for the shard in the inventory.
2. Complete the hacking mini-game - shouldn't pose any problems. You'll receive the location of Rinder's hideout.

Exploring the old hotel and finding Rinder

1. You have to travel to Los Osos hotel in West Wind Estate (it is outside Dogtown). The entrance is guarded by a lone guard - you can sneak past or kill him.
2. There are more enemies in the hotel and sneaking around may prove difficult. Remember to target the enemy hackers first.
3. Head to upper floors and reach the top one which has red lights. Rinder can be found in the room from the screenshot above. Your attempt to enter the room will be interrupted by the appearance of Yasha Ivanova, a mini-boss - for more tips on this encounter, visit a dedicated page from the Bosses chapter.

Confrontation with Rinder

After dealing with Ivanova, try to enter the room once again. The confrontation with Rinder can go two main ways:

1. Kill Rinder - you can do it at any moment (even right after entering the room) and Leon is defenseless. After eliminating the target, examine his corpse to receive the dogtag.

1. Spare Rinder - you need to talk to Rinder and cut a deal with him. Rinder will give you the dog-tag and additionally, the location of his stash - reaching this stash is the subject of a small quest called Addicted to Chaos described below.

Returning with the dog-tag to Briana

1. In both cases, you must meet with Briana and if Rinder is still alive, you need to lie that you took care of him. You'll give her the dog-tag.
2. With the quest completed, Mr. Hands will call and transfer your credits.

Additional quest - Additcted to Chaos

1. If you've stayed your hand during the encounter with Rinder, he will share the location of his item stash. Set the quest as active, and the mission marker will lead you to it.
2. You'll reach a garage. Enter 1975 to get inside.
3. The most valuable item is in a large chest and this is Deserter, an iconic shotgun.
