Dazed and Confused is one of the side quests from Dogtown available in the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. The walkthrough explains how to unlock the quest, what to do with Tool, where to find Tool's letter, how to pass the conversation with Lina Malina, and how to use the recording to make Tool regain his former personality.

Starting the quest and meeting in the basement

1. The quest should unlock automatically as you travel through the central part of Dogtown. You will be given the task to rescue Lina from the BD Brainporium store.
2. Once there, head to the basement. There you will find Shank and Tool, who after a recent braindance is convinced he is celebrity Lina Malina.

Opening of the booth with Tool

1. This quest has several different variations and endings.
2. The fastest way you can pass the quest is by talking to Shank. You must insist that your order is to free Lina. You will force open a booth with Tool and can then kiss him or deny him. Then simply call Mr. Hands.

Finding a Tool's item of sentimental value

1. The other, more elaborate option, is to bring the real Lina Malina and "restore" Tool's true identity. Talk it over with Shank and head upstairs.
2. After you leave the store, you can do some optional activities. The first is to call Judy and/or Viktor. You can ask each of these characters about Tool's current state. You will receive additional hints.

1. Return to the store's basement and examine the right-hand booth, which has Tool's letter (above image). It will be useful to you in the final part of the quest. You won't learn anything new from Tool now.

Reaching Lina's residence

A group of bandits will appear in front of the entrance to Lina's building - you can deal with them or look for another way to avoid them. Start by knocking on the door. You can get to the apartment by:

1. destroying the front door - requires 15 Body points;
2. opening the blind - requires 15 Technical Ability points;
3. destroying the glass wall - use any firearm.

You will determine that Lina is not in the apartment. Use the deckchair in front of the residence and wait for the celebrity.

Convincing Lina to attend the session

1. You have to choose the right dialog options when talking with Lina to make her show up for the recording. Do not admit to killing gangsters and say you are a BD scout.
2. You have to pay Lina 10,000 eddies to make her accept the offer. You can pay her right away or return with money later.

Taking part in a BD session

1. Wait for a message from Shank - you can use the wait option.
2. Return to the BD store, watch the scene and sit in the director's chair. You can get the best variant of the quest if you hand over Tool's letter found earlier in the booth in the basement.
3. At the end of the quest, choose any answer to Lina's question. Do all the steps correctly to make Tool become himself again. As your reward, you will receive eddies.
