- Additional quest Through Pain to Heaven
Unlocking Songbird's story line
- 2 out of the 5 endings of the Phantom Liberty expansion are associated with Songbird.
- You can unlock Songbird's story line in the main quest called Firestarter. After holding a meeting with Kurt Hansen, you will follow Songbird to an adjacent room. During the conversation, choose the first option from the picture. It concerns helping Songbird escape and avoiding her being capture by Reed and NUSA.
- Alex will kill Hansen after getting the signal. Meanwhile, Songbird will hack the stadium's security systems. Reed and Hansen will find out about V's betrayal, but you don't have to confront them now.
- You have to get out of the stadium together with Songbird (she can help V and hack the surrounding elements). After you hit the homeless camp Songbird will leave in a separate car , concluding the main quest Firestarter.
Choosing the ending of Songbird's story line
Songbird's story line contains 1 long quest and it is called The Killing Moon. Its initial part is linear. The important choice comes only when traveling together with Songbird by a train in its final part. You will learn that Songbird betrayed V - only one person can be cured at the clinic on the Moon. Here are the main variants:
- Taking Songbird to the shuttle - choose the first or the second dialogue option. V will carry Songbird to the shuttle entrance.
- Calling Reed - this an alternative variant of the choice involving turning Songbird over to him. V in return will ask for help in creating a cure for himself.
- Reed will exit the shuttle. If you chose the option of getting with Songbird to the shuttle, it will lead to a confrontation with Reed, who will be trying to stop you. If you've made a deal with Reed, you can put Songbird on the ground right away.
- Don't ignore Reed's warnings to stop and put down Songbird. After several warnings, Reed will kill V and this means automatic failure.
After you follow Reed's orders and lay down Songbird you have 2 main options:
- Draw your weapon - You have to shoot Reed and be quick about it so he doesn't shoot you instead. Otherwise, he will shoot V. After getting rid of Reed, you can put Songbird on the shuttle.
- Make a deal with Reed - you can change your mind and let Reed take Songbird. This way, Reed doesn't have to be shot.
Songbird's storyline can end in 2 ways:
- Songbird will take the shuttle to the moon - you must deal with Reed, get Songbird aboard the shuttle, strap her in, optionally connect with her, go to the observation post and wait for the shuttle to depart.
- Songbird will be taken by NUSA - you have to make a deal with Reed and let him take Songbird. Songbird will depart with Reed on the NUSA ship.
Additional quest Through Pain to Heaven
- A separate small quest called Through Pain to Heaven will only begin if you have handed Songbird over to Reed, and therefore if she has been captured by NUSA.
- The quest itself is a short conversation with Reed at a gas station about, among other things, his transfer and plans to leave Night City.
- Cooperation with NUSA unlocked the opportunity to complete the quest Who Wants to Live Forever. It is linked to the secret ending, which we described on a separate page of the guide.
