Cyberpunk 2077: Best origins Cyberpunk 2077 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 21 July 2023
The beginning of Cyberpunk 2077 makes the player choose the origin of V. You can decide whether your character starts as Nomad, Streetkid, or Corpo. This choice is important because you can't undo it in any way - once chosen, the origin influences the character's past, the prologue, and further storyline. So which is the best origin in Cyberpunk 2077? You will find the answer on this guide page.
What is the difference between the origins?
The choice of origin influences mainly the prologue in Cyberpunk 2077. The prologues of each origin are completely different from each other, but it doesn't take much time to go through them - so you can check each story yourself (going through one prologue won't take you more than a dozen minutes). However, it is worth briefly describing the differences between the variants of origin:
- Nomad - this prologue presents the V as Nomad, i.e., a man who travels the wilderness together with his clan. By choosing this option, you will have the opportunity to quickly get to know the Badlands, a desert outside the Night City.
- Streetkid - by choosing this variant, you make V grow up on the city streets and have contact with local gangsters. You will start the prologue in the bar in The Glen.
- Corpo - In this origin, V is a member of one of the largest corporations in Night City. By choosing this option, you will quickly learn how the corporations operate and their impact on the game world. You will also know the Arasaka Tower.
Regardless of the choice of origin, after completing the prologue, the main plot will be the same for all variants.

Which origin is the best?
The answer to this question is simple - in Cyberpunk 2077, there is no best origin. The origin has little influence on the gameplay - the only difference is the short side quests and unique dialogue options related to V's past. Moreover, the mentioned options do not influence the further course of the mission.
They will only allow you to learn more about the game world, the character, or the quest. The choice of origin is mainly for the immersion and feel of your character. You also don't have to worry about blocked content - the origin does not influence any missions, characters, or items.
