Last update: 03 October 2023
The side mission Run This Town from the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is about the election of a new leader of the Barghest gang of the Dogtown district. The walkthrough from our guide explains how to handle the confrontations with Jago and colonel Bennett, how to use Aguilar's identity, and what the leadership appointment meeting at the gang's headquarters in Black Sapphire looks like.
This page contains spoilers about an important choice from the main Firestarter mission. The side mission is related to the mentioned main story mission, which must be completed first.
- Meeting with Mr. Hands regarding Dogtown leader
- Meetings with the Voodoo Boys and Jago
- Optional meeting with Bennett
- A phone call to Mr. Hands and a visit to Black Sapphire
- Choosing a leader - confronting Bennett and Jago
Meeting with Mr. Hands regarding Dogtown leader
- This side mission requires you to behave in the corresponding way in the main mission Firestarter. You have to choose to cooperate with Songbird. Kurt Hansen will die as a result.
- At some point in the game Mr. Hands will call you and ask for a face-to-face meeting. You must pay him a visit at his apartment in Heavy Hearts.
- You'll learn from Hands that after the death of Hansen, two members of the Barghest gang are competing for leadership.
- Information about candidates is on the shard received from Mr. Hands - they're colonel Bennett and Jago. Hands wants you to help elect Bennett as the new leader, but the side mission will allow you to behave in any way you want.
- At the end of the meeting, pick up Mancinella iconic revolver, outfit, and behavioral imprint. V will change identity to the famous Havana assassin - Aguilar, at certain points in the mission. Put on the outfit immediately and test Aguilar's identity after approaching the mirror.
We recommend saving the game before each identity change. After you take over Aguilara's identity, the game won't allow you to safe until the scene is completed.
Meetings with the Voodoo Boys and Jago
- Head out to the planned meeting place in Dogtown. Enter the container to change your identity. V will use the assassin's revolver.
- Reach the Voodoo Boys and kill all the gang members. It's best to attack them before initiating a conversation, in order to surprise them.
After the fight, choose the time skip option. Jago will arrive at the site with her personal bodyguard Charile, and the conversation will begin. During the meeting, you can empathize more with Aguilar and choose the dialogue options of the Havana assassin. However, it isn't as important as in the earlier meeting with Hansen.
- In the initial part of the conversation, you can intimidate Jago (it requires 15 points of the body Attribute) or disarm Charlie (as shown in the above image). You have to manage to take out Charlie's gun in time, otherwise V will be shot and die.
- In the following conversation you can listen to information about Bennett and his ties to Arasaka. This will unlock the optional mission objective described below.
Once the meeting is over, you can call Hands right away, or you can do the optional mission objective.
Optional meeting with Bennett
- This is an optional objective through which you can check the trail of Bennett's cooperation with the Arasaka corporation. You have to reach the meeting place at City Center. Once there, change your identity again to Aguilar.
- You must eliminate Bennett's driver - shoot him or neutralize him in any other way. Pick up his body, hid it in the container and get into the vehicle.
Wait for Bennett to appear. V turns towards him and a confrontation with Bennett begins. You can:
- Initiate a fight with Bennett - it'll occur after you enforce a severance of relations with Arasaka and detain him after he gets out of the vehicle. Bennett is a mini-boss - at first avoid his melee attacks, and later also ranged attacks. You won't kill him, as he'll surrender after his health bar decreases sufficiently. After winning the fight, you can choose who should become the leader - Bennett or Jago.
- Bring up the subject of getting rid of the Jago problem - support Bennett's candidacy for the new leadership and part ways without putting up a fight.
A phone call to Mr. Hands and a visit to Black Sapphire
- To Mr. Hand you can call immediately after meeting with Jago, or after meeting with Bennett. Hands will react differently depending on which candidate you support.
- In both cases, you'll be sent to the Barghest scraper to attend a vigil for Hansen's coffin and the election of a new leader.
- Reach the Black Sapphire scraper and change your identity to Aguilar. This will allow you to go inside and use the elevator to get to the 99th floor. Reach the hall with the coffin - both candidates are staying there.
Choosing a leader - confronting Bennett and Jago
During the meeting at the coffin, you can:
- Choose a leader - select Bennett (recommendation of Mr. Hands) or Jago.
- Confirm your previous choice - this is the one you may have made during the optional confrontation with Bennett.
- During the meeting there is a risk that Bennett will shoot Jago and her men - this will happen if Jago is designated as a leader or if you have chosen Bennett and he wants to know all of Jago's secrets.
- You can calm down the situation by showing your revolver, or by persuading Jago to compromise. In both cases, Bennett and Jago get along (Hands will confirm this in one of his later messages).
Finally, leave the building and call Mr. Hands:
- If Bennett is chosen as the leader, then Hands will be glad and you'll receive 10000 eddies.
- If Jago became the leader, Hands will be angry with you and will only transfer 6000 eddies to you.
