El Capitan is an NPC appearing in Phantom Liberty expansion to Cyberpunk 2077 from whom you can receive a side quest called Push It to the Limit that involves stealing and delivering a vehicle. Our walkthrough will show you how and which car to steal, how to lose the ensuing pursuit, and how to initiate further missions involving stealing vehicles.
- Unlocking El Capitan's first mission
- Delivering the vehicle to the drop-off point
- More vehicle-stealing tasks
Unlocking El Capitan's first mission
- This side quest can be initiated by investigating a mysterious signal which marker will appear in Dogtown district.
- At the area, you'll find a parked car with a person standing next to it. You can immediately jump into the car or kill/stun its owner first.
- You will hear from Muamar "El Capitan" Reyes and he will ask you to deliver the stolen vehicle to him.
Delivering the vehicle to the drop-off point
- Start by reaching the Dogtown gateto leave the district. This and subsequent tasks from El Capitan require delivering stolen cars to remote locations all over Night City.
- After the theft, a pursuit may ensue during which you'll be attacked by hostile vehicles. When that happens, it is best to start firing from the vehicle and avoiding slowing down. Alternatively, you can focus on flawless and agile driving to lose the pursuers.
If the pursuit appeared even before leaving Dogtown, don't get close to the gate, as you'll be also attacked there. Instead, kill the pursuers or lose them and only then leave Dogtown.
- Don't let the target car be destroyed, or you'll fail the mission. Having left Dogtown, reach the marked garage and park the car inside.
- With the car left, go outside to talk to El Capitan and sit in the passenger seat. Do not worry about being stopped by the police - there is no need to attack officers.
- The quest will be concluded with you receiving credits.
More vehicle-stealing tasks
Passing the first mission from El Captain will unlock new vehicle theft contracts. From now on, blue steering wheel icons may appear on the map - these are potential vehicles that you can steal and deliver to earn credits. Depending on the vehicle, it can:
- Stand parked - consider eliminating the enemies standing next to the vehicle first.
- Drive around - you can fire at it from your vehicle or cross its path and kick the driver out or kill him.
If you don't react fast enough to the steering wheel icon, it may dissapear from the map, but another vehicle to steal will appear after some time.
Car delivery missions fall into 2 main categories:
- Avoiding pursuing vehicles - same situation as with the described mission.
- Race against time - a counter will appear below the minimap (an exemplary situation like this can be viewed on the screenshot). Reaching your destination with time still left on the counter is not a mandatory mission objective, but you can expect a better reward.
After each task, remove your rewards from the container.
