- Additional quest Four Score and Seven
Unlocking Reed's story line
- 2 out of the 5 endings of the Phantom Liberty expansion are associated with Reed.
- You can unlock Reed's story line in the main quest called Firestarter. After holding a meeting with Kurt Hansen, you will follow Songbird to an adjacent room. During the conversation, choose the second option from the picture. It concerns helping Reed capture Songbird.
- In the room upstairs, Hansen will kill Alex. An attempt to paralyze and capture Songbird with the help of ICEbreaker will fail. As a result, she will become hostile, but you won't be able to fight her now.
- You need to get out of the stadium, and Kurt Hansen will prevent you from implementing this plan - the confrontation with Hansen is described in the chapter dedicated to Bosses. At the end of Firestarter, you will learn that Songbird was captured by the NCPD.
Choosing the ending of Reed's story line
Reed's story line consists of 2 major quests:
- Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos - it concerns the attack on the Max-tac convoy on which Songbird is being transported.
- Somewhat Damaged - it concerns finding Songbird at the Cynosure facility while avoiding a big robot.
An important choice comes only after you reach Songbird in the main core. Here are the main variants:
- Kill Songbird at her request - at either the first or second opportunity, choose the first dialogue option. V will pull the cable out of her head and end her life before Reed can arrive and stop you.
- Keep Songbird alive - select one of the other dialogue options twice. Songbird will be kept alive against her will and captured by Reed and NUSA.
- Regardless of your choice concerning Songbird, you must complete an additional quest called Leave in Silence. The task concern handing over Songbird, dead or alive, to NUSA.
- The quest will present you with an opportunity to meet with President Myers - she can congratulate V, hand over a medal and promise to help with treatment (if Songbird is still alive), or part with the protagonist in an unpleasant atmosphere (if Songbird is dead).
Additional quest Four Score and Seven
- A separate small quest named Four Score and Seven will begin if you have captured Songbird alive.
- The quest itself is a short conversation with Reed on the basketball court about, among other things, his transfer and plans to leave Night City.
- Cooperation with NUSA unlocked the opportunity to complete the quest Who Wants to Live Forever. It is linked to the secret ending, which we described on a separate page of the guide.
