Cyberpunk 2077: Hidden Ending Cyberpunk 2077 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 23 February 2021
On this page of our guide, we show how to get the secret ending in Cyberpunk 2077. V decides not to endanger his friends and goes on a seemingly suicidal mission to Arasaka Tower with Johnny. The objective of the lone assault is finding an Access Point to Mikoshi. On this page of our guide, we show how to fulfil the requirements for the secret ending.
How to get the secret ending?
- The requirements for the secret ending in Cyberpunk 2077 aren't displayed anywhere, and there is a good chance of missing it during a normal playthrough.
- Start by reaching Nocturne OP55N1 story quest - during this task, you can influence what ending you want to get. Get to the point where Misty will leave you alone on the balcony so you can think the next actions through.
- After the conversation with Johnny Silverhand, don't choose any of the dialogue options, as they may be equivalent to activating a different ending. Wait idly for a few minutes.
- After the necessary time has passed, Johnny will recognize your inaction is an attempt to avoid putting your friends in danger. Silverhand will suggest that V embarks on a suicide mission. Your task will be a lone wolf attack on Arasaka Tower.
Don't Fear The Reaper quest
You have only one shot at this if you want to attain the secret ending. If V dies during the assault on Arasaka Tower, end credits will roll and this is the negative ending. What is worse, the game doesn't allow manual saves during the mission. Instead, there will be 2 autosaves, but you must load them manually from the main menu (not from the game over screen).
We recommend saving the game before choosing an ending and if needed, return to the old save.
- On each floor of the Arasaka Tower you will face high-level, well-armed opponents, so it's a good idea to prepare well - advance to the highest possible experience level before starting the mission. Additonally, stock up with good equipment, Cyberware and modifications.
- Over the course of the mission, V's health bar will shrink slowly, and no medicine will bring it back to 100%. This means you have to do the mission as fast as possible.
- The main goal of the trip to Arasaka Tower is, of course, Mikoshi. Before you get there, however, you will have to face Johnny Silverhand's greatest enemy - Adam Smasher.
- A detailed walkthrough and breakdown of the Adam Smasher battle along with useful tips regarding the encounter can be found on a dedicated page of our guide, in Bosses chapter.
- After connecting to Mikoshi, you will find yourself in Cyberspaceand have the opportunity to meet with Johnny and Alt.
- As it turns out, Alt used Soulkiller and managed to separate V and Silverhand's personalities when V connected to Mikoshi. Now he is only an engram.
- Once it seems that everything went well, Alt has bad news. She forgot that V's body is also a factor, and because of the changes by Relic, drugs, and the weakened immune system, she will not be able to stabilize V's condition, and they will die shortly after copying their personality. V's body no longer belongs to him but Silverhand.
- According to Alt, V is estimated to live about half a year.
- You now need to make a hard decision that will affect Cyberpunk 2077's ending - allow Johnny to take over V or return to the body as V and live the rest of your months in Night City.
Secret ending - differences
- By letting Johnny take over V, you'll receive the New Dawn Fades ending. It doesn't differ much from the nomad ending. Johnny will pay tribute to V and leave Night City.
- For the secret ending, you need to return from cyberspace as V, and this will initiate Path of Glory mission.
- In this ending, V becomes the boss of Afterlife, and when you visit the club to meet up with a client, Rogue will wait for you at the bar (in Johnny's ending, the events unfolded differently).
- The rest of this ending is the same. V meets with a client named Mr. Blye Eyes, and then the action switch to the L1 Earth-Moon libration point, outer space near the Crystal Palace. V activates autopilot and go into space.
