In addition to the 4 basic endings of the Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, you can also unlock a secret ending. This page of our guide contains information on what are the requirements to see the secret ending and what the finale of V's story line may be.

General assumptions of the secret ending

1. Completing the storyline of Phantom Liberty can unlock a new main ending for the entire game, i.e. a new finale for the story of V, Johnny Silverhand and the Relic.
2. Playing out the secret ending is the conclusion of the entire game, not just the Phantom Liberty expansion. This means you shouldn't rush (or create a backup save game state), because you won't be able to return to the free exploration of Night City anymore - this is the definitive closure of V's story.
3. By choosing the secret ending, you can skip a large part of the main campaign. For example, there is no obligation to play the entire Act 3. You can finish Cyberpunk 2077 much faster this way.

How to unlock the new ending to V's story?

The secret ending is linked to the quest called Who Wants to Live Forever - we described it on a separate page of our walkthrough.

You must meet specific requirements, otherwise the quest with the secret ending will not start at all:

1. If you allied with Songbird, one of the following quests was The Killing Moon. During that quest, you need to let Reed take Songbird.
2. If you allied with Reed, one of the following quests was Somewhat Damaged. During that quest, you need to keep Songbird alive after finding her in the core.

If you have met the above requirements, Who Wants to Live Forever will be unlocked:

1. After completing Through Pain to Heaven - Songbird's story line;
2. After completing Four Score and Heaven - Reed's story line.

1. After the quest appears in the journal you must wait 1 full day - it is best to use the option to accelerate the passage of time. During your meeting with Reed, confirm your readiness to go to the clinic.
2. You will be sent to the rooftop of Misty's Esoterica store and this is the location where the other main endings of the game's main story are also chosen. Use Sit in the chair and talk to Johnny. The game will display a warning about the point of no return (above screenshot). If you proceed with the described quest, you'll experience a completely new ending to the entire game.
3. Call Reed. While waiting for the AV to arrive, you can talk to Johnny Silverhand, who knows that undergoing the procedure will mean his "death."

The course of the secret ending

1. On the flight to the clinic you can talk to Johnny again, and also ask Dr. Lozano to open the side door - this will enable you to admire the Night City skyline.
2. V will wake up in a hospital bed at the Langley clinic and you will immediately have a meeting with Reed. He has 2 important pieces of news to report - 2 years have passed since we last spoke and as a result of the procedure, despite it saving V's life, the protagonist cannot used advanced cyberware anymore. V has become an ordinary person. Reed will offer the protagonist a work for the agency, but V wants to return to Night City.

1. You can call Viktor Vektor - upon learning of V's condition, the friendly ripperdoc will offer to help find an alternative method of recovering cyberware functions.
2. You must use the intercom to leave the clinic. You will return to Night City and during the ride to Viktor's clinic you can learn about what happened in the city in your absence.

1. In Viktor's clinic you will first of all learn that ripperdoc's business has been taken over by the Zetatech corporation, and you can comment on this in any way you like during the meeting.
2. Viktor will conduct an in-depth analysis and eventually confirm Reed's information - V cannot regain the cyberware functions, because using them would mean a serious threat to the protagonist's life.

1. On the way back to the vehicle you will be stopped by a group of bandits, and no matter how you behave V will be attacked and pushed down the stairs.
2. You will meet Misty and it will be an opportunity to talk to her about her plans and V's current situation.

1. V will say goodbye to Misty. The final cutscene will reveal that the protagonist remained in Night City and is now one of the "ordinary" citizens.
2. During the credits, you may additionally be contacted by old friends. There is an incentive to watch the credits without scrolling through them. You will be returned to the main menu. If you want to continue the game, you will need to load a save game from before the flight to the first clinic.
