Where is the Merchant?
The first time you will have the opportunity to meet Merchant in the Village, more precisely in Chapter 2. From then on, he will appear quite often, especially before or after a major clash with enemies. He's hard to miss, especially since his store is usually surrounded with purple flames.
Merchant services
At the Merchant's store you can:
- Sell items that are useless to you;
- Buy weaponsor upgrade them;
- Purchase crafting recipes;
- Repair a knife or vest;
- Exchange Spinels for Rewards;
- Increase the size of the attaché case.
Special Deals
What adds variety are the special opportunities Merchant offers Leon from time to time when you visit him. They are temporary, usually lasting only for one chapter. They all differ, but operate on similar principles. For example, if you purchase the Broken Butterfly weapon, you will receive an instruction (for free) on how to create Magnum Ammo.
Prices depending on the level of difficulty
Before starting the game, think carefully about which level you want to choose. Remember that prices are not the same at every difficulty level. The higher the difficulty level (Hardcore, Professional), the higher the prices.
Is it possible to kill the Merchant?
In the original Resident Evil 4, players could shoot the Merchant, resulting in his immediate death. After that, he would not reappear in the location where he was killed.
In Resident Evil 4 Remake, this option is disabled. When you aim at the Merchant, Leon will raise the weapon and will not fire the gun. The same thing will happen if you try to throw grenades at him. They will not make much of an impression on him.
