Your main task in Resident Evil 4 Remake is to protect Ashley. Sometimes, however, the number of opponents is so overwhelming that it is difficult to simultaneously defend both yourself and her. Here you will learn about what commands you can give to the president's daughter and how to control her in later chapters of the game.
Commands for Ashley
After getting out of the church, you should familiarize yourself with the two most important commands for Ashley.
- Tight - will make Ashley follow Leon very close. This is a good option when you want to move away from danger or run away.
- Loose. - thanks to it, Ashley will start following Leon, but not that close. This is a good way to avoid attacks (especially from parasites).
In some stages, you can also order the president's daughter to hide in, e.g. a cabinet, so that you can focus on fighting enemies.
Ashley's possible conditions
Ashley must be protected by you at all costs. If she dies or is abducted, you will have to go through the chapter again. She can be in one of the two conditions:
- Captured - the girl was captured by the enemy. That opponent will carry her to the exit. If you do not stop the enemy, Ashley will be kidnapped and the mission failed.
- Incapacitated - it happens when Ashley gets injured by an enemy. She will not be able to move. If she is hit once while still in this state, she will die, resulting in mission failure. To avoid this, we recommend to quickly get rid of the threat, approach the girl and interact with her.
Playing as Ashley
At some point after reaching the Castle, Leon will be separated from Ashley. This is when you will have to play as the president's daughter. She cannot use any attacks, although she is not completely defenseless. She will have a lamp with a blue light that blinds knight armors. Unfortunately, you will have to mostly hide and run. It only takes one attack for Ashley to die.
