On this page of our RE4 Remake guide, you can find a walkthrough for the battle against Garador - a boss encounter taking place during Chapter 7 in the Dungeon of the castle. You will learn how to avoid detection by the boss and how to hit the exposed spot on Garrador's body.
Location of Garrador
You fight the blind monster in chapter 7. Leon will descend into the Dungeon to acquire the Dungeon Key.
After collecting the key, both heroes will fall down through the floor to the dungeon where you encounter Garrador.
Defeating Garador
After regaining control of Leon, enter the main room of the dungeon.
Hide and crouch.
Garrador is blind, which means he will detect you through environmental sounds e.g. when you touch one of the hanging chains.
- If you are sneaking, avoid getting in contact with noise-generating objects, as Garrador will immediately take note of that.
- If you want to deliberately lead the boss astray, make noise and quickly switch positions to avoid the monster's charge.
To deal any damage to the boss, you need to hit a weak point on his back (we show it in the attached screenshot). Using a shotgun or other powerful weapons is recommended.
After the boss turns around, quickly get some distance between you and return to sneaking.
Repeat the above steps until Garrador is disposed of. The boss leaves behind Red Beryl. If you want, you can take a break and collect loot found around the area.
Once you're ready, use the interactive mechanism (hold the interaction button) to leave the Dungeon. You weren't able to do that when fighting the boss, because Garrador would have heard the mechanism.
