In RE4 Remake, same as in the other installments of the series, your inventory has a limited number of slots. On this page of our guide, we show how to deal with this problem through buying suitcase upgrades. Moreover, we inform what types of items take up the most space, and what are other possible ways of freeing additional suitcase space.
Organizing the inventory and buying bigger suitcases
In RE4 Remake, Leon's inventory takes up the form of a suitcase of limited size. Inventory slots are occupied by various types of items: weapons and upgrades to them, ammunition, knives, grenades, healing items or crafting materials. However, you don't have to worry about making space for Treasures or collectibles - these are found and stored in other tabs of the pause menu.
You can press L3 in the inventory menu to Auto-sort items - this is a very useful feature that will help you keep your inventory neat and organized. Aside from Auto-sort, each item in the inventory can be moved or rotated in order e.g. to make more space for cumbersome items.
You can add new inventory slots by buying suitcase upgrades. These are found at Merchants - the option is called Case Upgrade. The first of such upgrades can be bought in Chapters 2 and 4.
Each Case Upgrade replaces your suitcase with one of bigger size i.e. you receive new inventory slots. Unfortunately, such upgrade costs a lot of coins.
Other ways to free up space in your inventory
If your inventory is constantly cluttered by items, you can also:
- Sell unwanted items at a merchant - when it comes to weapons, each upgrade you've installed adds to the sale value.
- Move unused items to Storage - there will be one next to each typewriter and after the conclusion of each chapter. For example, you can Store healing items that you don't need now to use them later or place less used weapons there to free inventory space.
The Storage found at different locations always has the same contents - i.e. you don't have to return to the one which you've placed the item into.
