Jack Krauser is a boss you encounter for the first time in chapter 11 of RE4 Remake after leaving the Hive. The walkthrough informs how to parry Krauser's knife attacks, how to avoid the boss's melee attacks, how to effectively attack Krauser (knife, kicks) and how to win wrestling sequences.
First encounter with Krauser
Jack Krauser appears multiple times throughout the game, but the first confrontation with him happens at the end of chapter 11. Heroes must use the elevator in the Hive. After the elevator ride is over, watch a cut-scene and prepare for the boss fight.
Boss fight description
It's an unusual fight because you have to use a knife and melee attacks. In the place where you have started the fight, you will find a Boot Knife stuck into a board. It can replace Leon's default knife, i.e. Combat Knife.
You can also find green and red herbs in the area. Collect them if you don't have medicines and are starting the fight with little health.
You must parry Krauser's knife - he can use single attacks or a series of up to 5 slashes (meaning you must press the parry button at the right moment 5x).
If you have problems with parrying, watch the knife indicator in the lower right corner. The L1/LB icon will appear there for a short time - it's for perfect parrying.
Alternatively, you can block Krauser's attacks, but this will consume the knife's durability. His knife attack may also throw Leon off balance.
A successful parrying can be accompanied by a short animation - this can stop Krauser's attack and potentially make him lose balance.
If the boss has been stunned, quickly run up to him to perform a melee attack. Leon will do a strong kick.
Look for opportunities to attack Krauser with a knife - slash 2-3 times and prepare for parrying.
Krauser can jump and land behind Leon. You have two ways:
- quick 180-degree turn - tilt the left stick down and press R1/RB;
- sprint forward - the boss won't be able to stab you in the back.
During the duel, you will have wrestling sequences - press the action button quickly to free yourself and lose as few health points as possible.
At selected moments in the fight, you need to perform dodges - after the Evade icon appears. Press quickly Circle/B to avoid, for example, Krauser's sweeping kick.
You can't kill Krauser in this fight. After the boss takes enough damage, the game will play a cut-scene in which he leaves the arena.
