In our Resident Evil 4 Remake game guide, you will find a walkthrough of the fight with the final boss Osmund Saddler from the Loading Docks location from Chapter 16. We explain how to respond to Saddler's attacks, destroy the boss's eyes, and use a rocket launcher in the second phase of the final duel.
Final boss
The place of the fight with the final boss of the campaign is Loading Docks from Chapter 16. At the beginning of the fight you have to enter a small elevator.
Before you do that, you should save the game and visit the last store because there are the final battles in the game ahead of you. We recommend stocking up on as much magnum ammunition as possible, as a revolver can be very helpful in weakening a boss.
The final boss of the game is Osmund Saddler. It will transform into a large mutated creature.
Phase 1 - Battle at Loading Docks
During the battle, try to maintain a safe distance from the boss to avoid his charges and other regular attacks. Push the Evade button when it appears on the screen, and make a quick dodge (Circle / B on the pad) to avoid getting hit.
Aim at the boss's big eyes, but you can only do damage when they are open.
The magnum works best to weaken the enemy, although you have to shoot from a short distance. There is a good chance that a single hit to the eye with a magnum bullet will destroy it.
Explosive red barrels can also help weaken the boss - detonate them after Saddler get close to them.
After destroying several eyes, the boss should collapse onto the arena. You must then quickly run up to him and shove the knife into Saddler's central eye.
During the battle, you can run all over the Loading Docks location. The boss can destroy some parts of the platform - if that's the case, you quickly need to choose another way. You can climb to higher ledges and jump down to lower ones.
In Loading Docks, you will also find a button to lift the bridge (picture above) - you can create an alternative path, but it will remain active only for a short time.
Saddler can jump to a distant turret, and this is a good moment to switch to a rifle with a scope and try to hit the eyes from a distance.
He may spit a poisonous substance - hide behind covers or quickly run to the side.
Also, watch out for the far jumps of the boss when he returns to the main part of the platform - quickly move away from the landing spot.
Boss can summon flying creatures to help him in the fight. It's best to ignore most of them and kill only those that are close to Leon (preferably with a pistol or SMG).
If the flying monster catches Leon, use a knife to quickly to free yourself.
You have to repeat the steps of destroying the eyes on Saddler's body and stabbing the central eye of the knocked-down boss several times. Only then will Saddler fall from the arena, and you will advance to the second phase of the battle.
You can still collect loot from Loading Docks during the battle, but be careful not to become an easy target for Saddler to attack.
Phase 2 - Using rocket launcher
The combat area in the second phase of the fight is very limited. Fortunately, the fight itself is much simpler. You must avoid 2 types of Saddler's attacks:
1) Horizontal sweeps - press the Evade button (Circle/B) when the icon appears on the screen.
2) Vertical strikes - Run to the sides to avoid the boss' hit.
Shoot the core of the boss with any weapon and dodge his attacks.
After a short time, Ada will appear and toss you a Rocket Launcher Special. You have to pick it up quickly.
Launch a rocket at the core of the boss. Hitting him will lead to defeating Saddler and winning the entire battle.
You'll receive a gold trophy You're Small Time!
