In Resident Evil 4 Remake, you'll encounter a fair share of parasite-possessed enemies, and one of the more difficult types of opponents are Armadurases - animated armor sets. In our guide, we show effective ways of weakening and defeating Armadurases, how to avoid animated armor sets while controlling Ashley, and how to defeat the Merciless Knight mini-boss (a large golden armor and an objective of a Request).
Confronting Armadurases as Leon
Armadurases are animated armour sets that you will start encountering in the Castle beginning from Chapter 9. These creatures became animated thanks to large parasites inside of them.
When it comes to battling them, first and foremost - stay at a distance. When playing as Leon, try to locate and aim for a weak point of the armor - a protruding parasite e.g. in the neck area. This task requires accurate weapons.
Damaging the parasite enough will make the Armadura kneel - run up to it as fast as possible and perform a kick. The kick will either destroy the parasite or damage it severely.
Fighting Merciless Knight
During Chapter 10, you can pick up a Merciless Knight Request task. This is a more powerful Armadura-type opponent. His lair is in Mausoleum, and to get there, you can use the same elevator which you've ridden while playing as Ashley.
Start the encounter by defeating 2 normal armors accompanying the Merciless Knight.
The boss can lead with powerful attacks with his two-handed sword - keep a safe distance or run to the sides often.
Locating and attacking the parasite animating the Merciless Knight is difficult. After the boss makes a slow attack, quickly run behind its back and start hitting it there.
Your attacks may cause a large parasite to appear on the mini-boss. To damage it greatly, use a shotgun or other close-range viable weapon.
Confronting Armadurases as Ashley
Animated armors are also encountered while playing as Ashley in Chapter 9. Ashley doesn't have the weapons to destroy Armadurases. You can approach in two ways:
- escape - the armors are rather slow, but in some places, you need to stay idle for a while (e.g. summoning an elevator).
- illuminating armors with light - this will "freeze" them temporarily and you can use the attack any number of times, every time with the same effect.
