Umbral Lamp is a key item that players become familiar with from the very beginning of the game. Thanks to the power contained in the lamp, you can improve your exploration and combat skills. In our guide to Lords of the Fallen you will find information on how to use this item and what is it used for.
What is the Umbral Lamp?
This is an important item that your character possesses from the beginning. Thanks to it, you can illuminate the surroundings and move to the alternative world - Umbral. When using the lamp, it will be possible to reach previously inaccessible places in a given location. It can also be used in combat to rip out an opponent's soul or siphon the Vigor of anything nearby.
What is the Umbral Lamp used for?
The Umbral Lamp has many uses: thanks to it you can explore previously inaccessible places, obtain important items, travel to another world and much more. Below we present all the ways to use this item:
- Moving to Umbral - this is probably the most crucial skill. In many situations you will be forced to enter this world, otherwise you will be unable to reach important places. You can do this by illuminating a given sector or using the ability to "infiltrate" Umbral.
- Soulflay - this is both a combat and exploration skill. Thanks to it, you can tear out the enemy's soul, making them defenseless for a moment. Moreover, this ability is useful for "opening" new paths.
- Planting Vestige Seeds - once in the Umbral, you can use Vestige Seeds to create a Seedling. Thanks to this, a unique Vestige will be created, i.e. an object used to rest, teleport and level up your character (maximum one active place).
- Access to passive skills - after meeting Molhu, you can modify your Umbral Lamp by inserting Umbral eyes into it. These are unique items that passively strengthen your character. Each eye offers different effects, and you can find them by exploring the game world.
- Entering Memories - while in Umbral, you may sometimes notice immobile shells. By using Soulflay, you can interact with them and learn a bit about the plot. Additionally, after the memory ends, you will receive several rewards, including Umbral Scouring, and sometimes even the memory of a defeated enemy.
- Soul Drain - instead of approaching the souls of fallen enemies to gain Vigor, you can use Soul Drain to collect them from fallen enemies and gain Vigor/Experience Points.
