The Sundered Monarch in a nutshell
- The boss will not move in the first phase until you deal him 2,000 damage. He will only react by throwing daggers or hitting the ground, creating an explosion in a small area.
- Wearing an armor protecting from fire will be a good idea. In the second and third phases the boss deal a lot of damage from this element.
- Spells that leave many projectiles in the arena will work perfectly. The Sundered Monarch is huge, so most of them will hit him and deal maximum damage.
- Be aggressive when fighting the Sundered Monarch. His punches can hurt, but he doesn't attack at a breakneck pace. Often back away. This is a perfect opportunity to attack him several times and only then avoid his offensive moves.
How to fight the Sundered Monarch in phase 1?
The Sundered Monarch will sit and cry at the very end of the arena. He won't react even if you get very close. Only when you attack him will he respond with the same.
We strongly recommend attacking him from a distance in this phase. Close combat can cause a lot of problems.
How to fight the Sundered Monarch in phase 2?
After dealing 2,000 damage, the boss will start phase 2, in which he will fight you seriously. His attacks will mainly be carried out using the head of the sculpture he holds in his hand.
If he raises it, after a while he will slam it into the ground, creating a large explosion. Try to avoid this attack at the perfect moment, when the head of the sculpture starts to approach the ground. You can also approach the boss at a very close distance, then you shouldn't be hit.
The Sundered Monarch may also try to grab you. He will then wave his free hand, throw himself on the ground, and perform a grab. If you are hit, you will take a lot of damage and possibly even die. Therefore make sure you do not get caught. Dodge in the opposite direction from the hand grip.
If you get too far away, the boss will prepare a charge. Even though it is a linear attack, the enemy can turn slightly, so make sure to dodge when he comes very close to you. Otherwise, you will be trampled and lose a lot of health.
The most dangerous and difficult to avoid move are his horizontal swings. He will then take the sculpture and start dragging it on the floor. He can do this up to four times and end the entire series of attacks by jumping and a strike with the sculpture's head. The first two are done at a relatively fast pace, while the third and fourth are a bit slower. If you have good timing, stay close to him and dodge, if not, sprint and move away from him.
How to fight the Sundered Monarch in phase 3?
When the boss approaches half of his HP bar, fiery swords will pierce his body, and he will rise into the air. After a while, a huge explosion and a wave of fire will appear. In this case you have to dodge forward twice.
If the boss starts glowing, fiery daggers will start appearing out of his body. They will create a circle that will expand three times. Move away from the boss and attack him only when they disappear or the Sundered Monarch will move to another place.
It may happen that the boss' attack will end with the random appearance of blades. Go away from them, because they will deal damage over time.
The Sundered Monarch may start running towards the player and swing the sculpture's head. After a while, he will also hit the ground, creating a fiery wave that deals a lot of damage. Get ready to dodge twice in a row.
When the boss's health is low, he will return to his original location. You then have to kill him to end the fight.
