While playing Lords of the Fallen, an important issue is collecting Vigor - in-game experience points. We have presented all the main ways to acquire Vigor. In addition, you can learn how to earn more XP for similar activities.
On a separate page of the guide, titled What to spend Vigor on? we've included recommended things to buy in addition to spending XP on character progression.
XP from regular enemies and bosses
- The most obvious technique is gaining Vigor from defeated opponents. Each killed enemy will leave a purple mark - approaching it will absorb Vigor.
- You can receive the most XP for defeating bosses, but it is a one-time payment. For example, for defeating the boss Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal, you will receive 6,000 Vigor points.
On the page titled XP Farming, we showed examples of locations where you can obtain large amounts of XP by eliminating opponents.
Increasing Vigor multiplier
- You can accumulate Vigor from battles faster in Umbral, i.e. the world of the dead, to which you can move at will or after death in the world of the living.
- During your stay in Umbral, your Vigor multiplier gradually increases and the game informs you about it in the upper right corner of the screen (example in the picture).
- However, the described technique carries an increased risk of losing all accumulated experience. As time passes, more and more monsters attack you in Umbral and stronger creatures appear. This may lead to the hero's sudden death. You can return to your lost Vigor, but you only have one attempt to do so (more information can be found on page titled Death and its consequences).
Vigor Skulls
- There is an item called Vigor Skull in the game, which you can obtain, among others, as loot. These are consumable items and each skull used grants a certain amount of XP (200 Vigor points in the example in the picture).
- We advise you to use skulls only in safe locations, e.g. standing next to a Vestige or a merchant. This will enable you to immediately use the received Vigor to make purchases or level up your character, without the risk of losing experience from the skull you spent.
Selling items
- After reaching the location called Skyrest, you will encounter the first merchants and you can sell items from your inventory. Depending on the item, you can receive on average from several dozen to several hundred Vigor points.
- Be careful not to sell useful or unique items. We do not recommend selling, among others: Umbral Shards or armor pieces from unique sets. It is best to get rid of weapons, armor or consumable items that you have already collected several pieces of.
Note - There are trophies in the game for collecting various pieces of equipment. Avoid selling unique items if you don't want to miss out on these types of achievements.
