First confrontation with The Lightreaper
- You encounter The Lightreaper for the first time during the introduction to the campaign in the first area of Defiled Sepulchre. You'll reach a point where you have to defeat the first main boss - Holy Bulwark Otto.
- Right after defeating Otto, The Lightreaper riding a dragon will appear. Initially, you must avoid air attacks from a flying creature. Ultimately, The Lightreaper will dismount from the dragon and choose to confront you directly.
- The fight with The Lightreaper is reminiscent of the first fights with powerful bosses from souls games like Sekiro. You should lose the fight, although theoretically you can win it. This requires you to respond flawlessly to the boss's attacks, as your character is quite weak at this stage of the game. Moreover, you only have one attempt to defeat The Lightreaper in the prologue. If you die, after the cut-scene you'll continue exploring. The Lightreaper won't appear in the starting location for the second time.
Rewards for defeating The Lightreaper
If you manage to defeat The Lightreaper in the prologue, watch the alternate cutscene and receive rewards:
- Vestige Seed;
- 25 Umbral Scouring;
- Lightreaper Flesh;
- The Lightreaper's Umbral Parasite.
- Rememberance of the Lightreaper - you must find the Umbral Stigma and use the lamp on it.
These rewards are the same as those for defeating The Lightreaper later in the game.
Next fights with The Lightreaper
- You can face The Lightreaper again in the later locations of Fitzroy's Gorge and Upper Carlath Plaza.
- During subsequent confrontations, your character should be strong enough to face The Lightreaper. The strategies for battling this boss and all of his main attacks are described in the Bosses chapter of our guide.
