Exploring the world of Lords of the Fallen from 2023 is made easier by using Vestiges, which allow for, among other things, free rest and health regeneration. On this page of the guide, we explain how to permanently unlock new Vestiges and how to use temporary Vestige Seedlings and the associated Vestige Seeds.
Vestiges are unlocked permanently
- In Lords of the Fallen, instead of bonfires or camps, places to rest and level up your character are called Vestiges. You can find and use them in both Axiom and Umbral.
- You must first find and activate each Vestige. They may be located in the world of Axiom or hidden in the world of Umbral. Pay attention to the Umbral Lamp lighting up - it may indicate that something is on the other side. After determining that a spot is in fact an inactive Vestige, you can move to the world of the dead and activate them in Umbral. From now on it will be available in both worlds.
Vestige Seedlings
- The second way to create safe points in the game world involves using Vestige Seeds.
- You can receive seeds from some of the NPCs you encounter or obtain them as loot (e.g. as reward for defeating the boss). The first seed will be given to you for free by the Iron Wayfarer, and this takes place shortly before the fight with Pieta.
- An alternative way to obtain seeds is to visit Molhu, who is in Skyrest. Remember that he only appears in Umbral.
- Molhu is offering Vestige Seeds for sale for 2,500 Vigor each. You don't have to buy them straight away, but we recommend always traveling with at least one seed on hand.
- You can find Umbral flowers in the game world and their presence can be signalized by the Umbral Lamp that will light up near them.
- In the place where you found flowers, you can set up with the Umbral Lamp and grow a Vestige Seediling. It will gain the same features as "normal" Vestige, so it will enable you to rest, fast travel, level up your character and enable multiplayer.
- Vestige Seedling also appears in the fast travel destination list as Anchor Between Realms.
- Unfortunately, the described technique has one big drawback - you can only have one active seedling at a time. Once a new Vestige Seed is used, the previous seedling will be lost and removed from the fast travel destination list. We recommend using seedlings as best as possible and carefully examining the area after creating a resting place.
