New Game + allows you to spend even more time with Lords of the Fallen (2023). On this page of the guide you'll find information on how to unlock NG+, whether current progress is retained and what can be transferred to New Game Plus.
Unlocking New Game Plus
- There is an NG+ mode in Lords of the Fallen and, like in other souls games, it is multi-stage. The mode starts with New Game+ 1 (NG+ 1) and subsequent playthroughs increase the value by 1, making the game even more challenging.
- If you want to start a New Game+, you must unlock any of the 3 main endings of the game - Adyr, Radiance, or Umbral. The NG+ campaign is also a good opportunity to get different endings.
- After finishing the game and watching the final cut-scene, the game asks you to advance to New Game+ 1. You shouldn't do this if you haven't fully explored the game world yet. New Game+ 1 overwrites the current game save and the old saves cannot be restored. We suggest staying in the initial playthrough (New Game 0) in order to explore and gather more loot.
- You can start New Game Plus 1 at any time. Visit any vestige and select the promotion to NG+ 1 from the command list.
- In New Game Plus, opponents are stronger, more resistant to certain attacks and have more health points. This means that even regular opponents can be challenging.
What progress will be transferred to NG+?
To the New Game+ will be transferred:
- Character level and statistics - You don't have to start over with a low-level character.
- All character equipment - These include weapons, armor elements, rings, amulets, spells, consumable items, and crafting materials.
- Umbral Lantern and Sanguinarix upgrades - You can immediately use upgraded main tools.
- Unspent vigor points - The game will retain all XP that you didn't spend on character development or purchasing items.
- Armor tincts and gestures.
Things that WON'T BE transferred to NG+:
- Keys - All their varieties must be found or purchased again.
- Quest items - These are objects that aren't consumable items. They need to be re-acquired.
- Boss rememberances - You must collect them again after defeating a given boss and moving to Umbral.
- Saving Gerlinde - You have to complete all the steps to reach the blacksmith again.
- Full offers of stores - Certain items and services from merchants will only become available after progressing through the story.
- All vestiges - You cannot freely use all previously discovered checkpoints. They need to be unlocked again.
