In Lords of the Fallen from 2023, you may face the difficulty of not having the option to pause the game on demand. We explain the dangers of leaving the game running without pausing and how to force the game to stop.

No pause after opening the menu

1. In Lords of the Fallen, the game is not paused after opening one of the menu windows, e.g. inventory or equipment.
2. The game continues to run in the background and you may be attacked by surprise because the menus cover a large portion of the screen. In extreme cases, this may lead to the sudden and unexpected death of your character.
3. You can partially work around the lack of pause by staying in the place where you took the rest or by retreating to a safe location. There should then be no monster attacks while you are idle if you do that.

How to stop the game?

1. A trick we have proven and recommend is to deliberately turn on the game's photo mode.

1. Go to the menu where, at the bottom of the screen, there is an option to open the photo mode (example in the picture). When playing on a controller, you turn it on by pressing the left analog stick.

1. After the photo mode is activated, the entire game will stop, even if you were in the middle of a fight.
2. You can then leave the game without the risk of it suddenly resuming. The game will only resume time flow if you manually turn off photo mode.
