On this page you will read about weeds and weeding in Farming Simulator 22.

The following page focuses on weeds in Farming Simulator 22 - how to get rid of weeds, how to prevent them, and when to remove them.
Basic information
An integral and unloved part of every crop is the weeds growing among the plants. This element has changed slightly since FS19. You still have to perform weeding on each field sooner or later, but you can partly influence whether it will be a one-time action and when it will occur (of course, the crop species has a big influence here).
Weeds reduce yield by 20%. Weed growth can be disabled in the game options.
To use a weeder, simply deploy it and lower - this machine doesn't need additional equipment to work.
When to do weeding?
To get rid of weeds, use a weeder and do this as soon as possible - before the plants develop so that you won't destroy the plants while driving a vehicle (you can use narrow wheels to avoid this problem). We recommend doing the weeding in the next month after sowing. When the crops develop to the final stages of growth, weeding will not be possible - you will have to accept the reduced yield.
Preventing weeds from growing
Leaving weeds in the field will reduce yields. Weeds left after harvest will disappear during cultivation. You can prevent weeds by using preventive chemical spraying (herbicide) before sowing/planting or immediately after. However, you need to do that before weeds don't grow too tall. Nevertheless, the herbicide can work where the weeder won't when the weeds have grown a little. However, there is no guarantee that you will remove all weeds - but you will always save more yields, so it is worth having a herbicide nearby.
You need to collect the weeds before the saplings grow. This will depend in part on the conditions and methods of soil treatment - this may affect the growth rate of plants.
Weeds also like to appear on a freshly harvested field. However, cultivating will effectively remove them, as will plowing (weeds grow slower on plowed land than on cultivated land). The first weeds are almost invisible from a distance. Use the preview on the field map to find out where the weeds are.
After the first month, when the plants are just emerging, you do not need to use narrow tires in tractors to avoid damaging the crops - short plants are resistant to this.
Weeding is best done as soon as you notice them personally or see on the map. If you don't do it right away and the weeds grow, you won't be able to get rid of them with a weeder.
Weeder sprinklers
In the store, under the Grassland Care tab, you can find two weeders (in the basic version of the game). These are APV GK 300 M1 Full Edition and DALBO MaxiRoll 630 Greenline.
Thanks to them, you can get rid of weeds from fields turned into meadows. You will also be able to make them richer with a grass roller. However, these weeders do not work in fields with other types of plants (e.g. in a field where you sown wheat).
