Usage

Hay is used as animal feed. You can give it to cows (this is optional, hay isn't part of the most effective mixed ration), horses, and sheep (interchangeable with grass, equal productivity).

How to get hay?

To obtain hay, simply use a tedder on the mown grass. It will immediately become hay. However, the grass is then scattered in all directions, so it is worth using a windrower. You can collect the hay later, just like you can collect the grass - with a forage wagon, with a baler, but not with a forage harvester.

Bales of hay can also be purchased at the store - the price is not low, but it will allow you to quickly start breeding.

Storage

Although the hay in Farming Simulator 22 doesn't spoil, you can store it in a special building - hay loft. The building is in the Silos tab in the build mode.

Hay can also be stored in trailers, on the ground, or as bales.
