Farming Simulator 22: Trailers - differences and features FS 22 guide, tips
On this page of the Farming Simulator 22 tutorial you can read about the most important differences between the trailer and semitrailer models.

Here you will read what to suggest when buying a trailer or semi-trailer and what are the differences between them in Farming Simulator 22.
Differences between trailers
The main features and differences of trailers and semi-trailers are:
- Capacity - the most important feature when choosing a trailer. You should know your needs (e.g. the size of the fields and the estimated harvest size or the capacity of the trailer that is larger or similar to that of the harvester).
- Type and use - although many trailers act as a universal means of transporting goods, many trailers have limitations or special purposes (e.g. trailers for transporting sugarcane or beets). In addition, it is worth paying attention to the special trailers, such as auger wagon, which also allows you to transfer goods between trailers - these, however, have a separate category in the store.
- Front torsion axle - some trailers have a front torsion axle. They are ideal for creating a set of trailers, as they perfectly follow the previous trailer. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to make turns with them.
- Height - very capacious trailers are often short, but high. This is a significant problem for some harvesters/auger wagons.
- Form of unloading - unfortunately, the store doesn't inform about this characteristic. You can only look at the construction of the trailer and draw your own conclusions or rent it and test. Trailers can be unloaded in several ways: backwards (tipper), sideways, backwards without lifting (using a belt or chute), through a pipe (auger wagons). The type of unloading is especially important when taking care of animals, while unloading dump trucks, where they can hit the ceiling.
- Configurations - some trailers can be configured to perform different functions. This trailer can be modified into a flat platform and is ideal for transporting pallets or bales. A configuration you purchased can be used in the workshop for free for the trailer.
- Type of hitch - if it is a semi-trailer, you will need a truck or "adapter" - dolly. In addition, some trailers also need power (yellow driveshaft) for unloading - these are usually trailers with a unloading belt or trailers with a function such as a forage wagon or a feed mixer.
- Additional hitch on the back - if it is available, you can combine the trailers together. To do this, you usually need smaller trailers, with the first one having only one axle at the rear (double), and the next two need front and rear axles.
Starting trailers
If you know how you want to lead your career at the beginning of Farming Simulator 22, it is worth immediately thinking about specialized trailers. Especially if you think, for example, about collecting cotton, cutting grass or forestry. As for the universal trailers, which will carry most of the goods and raw materials, we recommend:
- Welger DK 115 - cheapest trailer available. Great for combining multiple units. In addition, it has the option of converting to a flat platform for transporting pallets and bales, as one of the cheapest forms of transport. It can be unloaded sideways, backwards (tipper) or through a small hole in the rear - ideal for unloading in buildings.
- CLAAS Carat 140 TD - the best starting trailer in terms of price/capacity. Additional trailers can be connected to it.
