Farming simulator 22: How to sell silage? FS 22 guide, tips
On this page you will learn what biogas plants in FS 22 are used for and how to sell silage in them.

The following page of the Farming Simulator 22 game guide explains how the biogas plant works: does it have prisms, how to sell silage in them, how to pick up digestate?
What are biogas plants?
Biogas plants are available on each map in Farming Simulator 22. These are sale points that buy energy resources and pay good money for them. In the biogas plant in particular, you can sell silage, slurry, manure as well as straw (but only at certain points, as it's not a default product purchased by the biogas plants).
You can also build biogas plants yourself as one of the factories.
How to sell goods?
To sell goods at a biogas plant, you need to place them into the container with the tipper icon. It doesn't matter whether it's a bale or a bulk product - in this case, you have to use a loader with a shovel to scoop up and move the goods.
Some biogas plants located on the map will allow you to unload your goods next to a container, such as the 1MW biogas plant in Elmcreek. You will then be able to unload the goods from the trailers without having to use shovels.
You always have the option to sell silage and other resources and get paid according to current market prices, regardless of whether you own a biogas plant or not.
Benefits of buying a biogas plant
Biogas plants are an expensive venture. The advantages of buying them are as follows:
- Access to the plot - if you buy a biogas plant on the map, you will often find silage prisms there as well. Otherwise, you cannot use these prisms. Sometimes you can also find sheds there, which you can sell, if you're not planning on using them.
- Digestate - you can't produce digestate unless you buy a biogas plant. However, all previous resources remain inside the building and are available to you after purchase (as long as the storage capacity of the building is not exceeded).
- Hourly income - each biogas plant, depending its storage capacity, can processes a certain amount of silage or other resources per hour. Every hour, you will be paid the market price for the amount of processed resources (as if you sold silage in your own biogas plant).
Types of biogas plants
It's worth mentioning that these buildings are available in different sizes - each biogas plant has its size / power (from 99kW to 1MW). The biogas plants you can purchase at the shop max out at 500kW - you can find the biggest 1MW plants on the maps, e.g. in Elmcreek. The size of the building affects its processing power (amount of silage worked per hour) and the price of work per hour (to a maximum of €25 per hour, so the costs are partly negligible).
"Public" biogas plants on the map have a higher storage capacity than those built by you - they have larger containers in comparison to the small containers of the factories you build. Containers, even if they are overfilled, can still store goods (in the preview, the tank will simply be full all the time if you exceed its capacity until the amount of material in the container is normalized).
