On this page, we describe methods for storing crops in Farming Simulator 22.

Below you will read about the ways of storing harvests in Farming Simulator 22 - why store the harvest, whether the harvested plants can be destroyed, where to store the grain, and where to store potatoes.
Storage methods
There are several ways to store your harvest:
- Silos - you can build your own silos or use those available on some maps for free (most often near railroads).
- Trailers - you can keep the crops in trailers. Nothing will happen to them there, but until you empty it, you won't be able to use it any other way.
- On the ground - any trailer with fertilizer, crops, etc. can be emptied anywhere on the ground. But then you have to use a shovel in the loader to pick up the raw materials or use conveyor belts available in the store to pick up items from the ground and load them into a machine.
- Pallets and bales - products purchased in the store on pallets can be stored in this way to make them easier to transport. You can also transfer them to trailers. Bales can be made from hay, grass, and straw to also make them easier to store and transport. This also applies to cotton.
Silos
You can build silos in the Build Mode. Each silo has a limited capacity - in FS22, however, you can build "add-ons" to expand their capacity, instead of setting up another silo. This will allow you to load and unload in the same place. In silos, you can store only those crops that have been specified - mainly grain products like wheat, barley, rye, oat, rapeseed, soy.
You can transport harvests straight from the harvester to the silo via a pipe.
To empty a trailer into a silo, simply stand on the trailer marker and start unloading. To fill the trailer later, stand on the marker with the arrow pointed down - a pipe will be visible above it.
Always check the content of your trailer before you dump the contents - some may dump the stored goods backward, others to the sides. As for the majority of the smaller trailers, you can choose one of the two options.
You can't store some plants in silos, e.g. potatoes. You have to store them on the ground and load them onto trailers by using transmission belts.
Monitoring resources
In the game menu, you can observe the amount of stored goods in silos and factories.
However, plants stored on the ground/in machines/in trailers will not be shown here.
