Farming Simulator 22: Canola and soybeans FS 22 guide, tips

On this page you will learn about the characteristics of canola and soybeans in Farming Simulator 22 and how high yields they generate.

Last update: 10 December 2021

Here you will read about soybeans and canola - two plants available for growing in Farming Simulator 22. You will find out what yields you will get from the hectare and where you can process the plants.

What do you need?

The cultivation of canola and soybeans resembles the cultivation of grains. This time, however, you do not produce straw. Moreover, these plants produce a much smaller yield per hectare than grains (but of greater value):

  1. Light tractor,
  2. Cultivator or seeder with cultivator,
  3. Seeder (most seeders have a cultivator and some have a fertilizer tank),
  4. Harvester with grain header,
  5. Average trailer - preferably its capacity is close to or a multiple of the capacity of the harvester's.

To maximize profits:

  1. fertilize the field twice,
  2. Do soil rolling immediately after sowing,
  3. Make mulching before cultivation/plowing,
  4. Do not let the weeds grow,
  5. Do not harvest in the rain,
  6. Plowing does not increase the amount of grain harvested.

You can store the collected goods in a silo.

Canola

Canola is suitable for harvesting only when it looks withered

Canola oil is produced from canola - this is its only use. It is easy to grow and gives large yields - it is worth growing it at the beginning of your farming career. Grain header is used for its harvesting.

  1. It doesn't make straw.
  2. It is used in the production of canola oil in an oil mill (200l canola -> 100l canola oil).
  3. You can feed it to pigs.

The interesting thing about canola is that it can be sown by many devices designed for sowing and caring for grass - therefore it can be useful for animal husbandry since you do not need a special and expensive seeder.

The yield of canola is 11,000l per hectare.

Soybeans

Soybeans are only suitable for sale. Grain header is used for its harvesting. Soybeans have high selling prices. In addition, it generates little harvest - you will not need large trailers to transport it.

  1. It doesn't make straw.
  2. It is not processed in factories.
  3. You can feed it to pigs.

The yield of soybeans is 9,000l per hectare.

Soybeans can be sown with seeders and planted with planters. Therefore, it is easy to add it to your field along with other crops - you won't need to purchase new equipment.
