Pillars Of Eternity 2: Stranded - Walkthrough Pillars Of Eternity 2 Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 20 November 2022

The following chapter is a walkthrough of the Stranded main quest in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. The quest is automatically triggered after finishing the game's prologue, i.e. after the ship with the protagonist onboard wrecks. The main theme of this quest is looking for help with mending the ship - it's the only way to leave the Port Maje Island. At the same time, you will receive another main quest - To Hunt a Good. These two quests are largely intertwined.

Meeting the Island's Governor

The quest begins right after you regain consciousness in Vilarios Rest (M1), but you cannot really get on with it before you reach Port Maje Harbor (M3) - Pillars Of Eternity 2: Stranded - Walkthrough - Quests - Pillars Of Eternity 2 Deadfire Game Guide

The quest begins right after you regain consciousness in Vilario's Rest (M1), but you cannot really get on with it before you reach Port Maje Harbor (M3). Approach the rostrum (M3,1) and listen to the conversation between Governor Clario and Ikawha.

You have to meet the governor in person, so head down to the Governor's Mansion (M5). Enter the office (M5,3) and talk to Governor Clario. During the meeting, you can choose different unique dialogue options, but the governor will lot scratch your back before you scratch his. You have to find for him the lost animancers. To do that, you have to reach the Engwithean Digsite (M8). Find more about reaching the location in the next chapter, devoted to the To Hunt a God main quest.

Finding the animancers

Approach the big cage in the central part of the Engwithean Digsite (M8,4) - Pillars Of Eternity 2: Stranded - Walkthrough - Quests - Pillars Of Eternity 2 Deadfire Game Guide

Approach the big cage in the central part of the Engwithean Digsite (M8,4). The team will be attacked by Young Panthers. Eliminate them one by one and keep an eye on the weakest members of your team: they won't last long against the animals. When the area is clear, you can click the cage and free the prisoners. Now talk to Benessa, which will allow you to learn more about the whereabouts of Oderisi. Aloth should also walk out of that cage. You can make him a permanent member of your team.

Finding Oderisi

In order to find Oderisi, you will need to visit the main dungeon of the excavation site - the Arena Sub-level (M9), to be more exact - Pillars Of Eternity 2: Stranded - Walkthrough - Quests - Pillars Of Eternity 2 Deadfire Game Guide

In order to find Oderisi, you will need to visit the main dungeon of the excavation site - the Arena Sub-level (M9), to be more exact. The entrance to the dungeon is located East of the cage you've just opened. Exploring the entire dungeon is optional. Proceed west and go through the menagerie (M9,6) where you will have to defeat (or sneak past) Imps and Sporelings. A bit farther, you can also encounter the Essence Anomalies.

You should also stop by the northwest room, i.e. Oderisi's workshop (M9,8). Kill the Brine Imp. You can peek inside some of the boxes - one of them contains a Journal Entry. The ultimate destination is the northern hall with a shining column (M9,9). There, you will find Oderisi and obtain Oderisi's Notes. A paragraph scene will commence, which will be linked to the To Hunt a God main quest.

You can leave the dungeon now (right after getting back to the surface, a cut-scene where you meet some souls may commence) and go back to Governors Mansion (M5) in Port Maje Harbor (M3) - Pillars Of Eternity 2: Stranded - Walkthrough - Quests - Pillars Of Eternity 2 Deadfire Game Guide

You can leave the dungeon now (right after getting back to the surface, a cut-scene where you meet some souls may commence) and go back to Governor's Mansion (M5) in Port Maje Harbor (M3). Decide whether you want to present Oderisi's Notes to the governor (increased reputation) or otherwise save them for later. New dialogue options (among them some unique ones for Paladin, Priest, Monk and Ranger) do not impact the conversation hugely. You will also learn about having to visit Neketaka as part of the main quest, Eora's Veins.

You have to go back to the beach, i.e. to Vilario's Rest (M1). A cut-scene where you meet Ikawha will commence, and the ship will be back on water. You will also get a few side quests: basic crew and basic supplies that are part of preparing for the first sea fare.
