Tips and hints
- Monk can access two sources of power - Mortification and Wounds. Mortification is a standard pool that works just like with Fighters or Barbarians - it's needed to use abilities and is replenished after each fight. Wounds, on the other hand, are received with damage and can be then used to activate a certain type of abilities, which cannot be triggered with Mortification.
- Attack speed is essential - it makes no sense to use heavy armor and reduce your mobility and speed. Do not try to go any heavier than light armors; you can actually experiment with playing in robes or regular clothes. Use abilities such as Swift Strikes to rain enemies with fast attacks. Remember about supporting your ranged units, and push enemies of using the Force of Anguish.
- The point above concerns a regular Monk, who's focused on dealing damage, but the Monk is also a pretty good tank. The Clarity of Agony ability decreases the duration of debuffs, and Blade Turning deflects damage back to nearby enemies. In addition, a whole range of abilities allowing you to push opponents away or knock them down allows protecting other members of the team.
- Monk's essential attributes are Might, Constitution and Dexterity. If you're designing your character to deal the most damage, focus on might and choose an Aumaun. If you want a tank, then Focus on Constitution and choose a Dwarf.
