Foreman's Quarters. Atfer you've defeated the beetle you can search the area. You will find Champion's Medallion and a note among other things. The medallion is needed to open a secret tomb in the Arena sub-level (M9,1).

The map above depicts the Ruin Interior that can be visited while at the Engwithan Digsite in Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire. These are three separate areas. Exploring them is fully optional, but we can find some treasure there or gain some experience for killing enemies and disarming traps.

Important areas in the Ruin Interior

2. Foreman's Quarters. After defeating the beetle you can explore the room. There you can find, among others, a champion's medallion and a note. The medallion is needed to unlock a secret tomb in the Arena Sub-level (M9,1).

3. Ancient training room. This is a large, two-story level area. There are skeletons and lots of traps (disarm or avoid) here. The upper level of the area contains a large chest with a mace, a large shield and Gauntlets of Accuracy (you gain +3 bonus to accuracy).

Types of enemies and monsters in the Ruin Interior

Brine Imp - there are two encounters with imps in the dungeon, they are immune to mind and root attacks.

Cave Beetle

Skeleton Warrior - skeletons are immune to poison, don't allow them to get close to your mages and weaker party members.

Other information concerning the Ruin Interior

Three separate entrances lead to the different parts of the Ruin Interior M8. Always chose the one that's the fastest. Only the Ancient training room has two passages - depending on the door you chose you can get to the upper or lower level of the training room.

There are lots of traps in the Ancient training room. It's best to disarm most of them before engaging in combat with the skeletons (remember to use stealth). Otherwise, it is very easy to trigger a trap while in combat.
